What if I've finally turned into what they've always said I would turn into? A maniac. A psycho killer. A guy who enjoys quoting Sin City.

In a brief description, I play all genres of games. My personal favorites are and always will be platformers and shoot 'em ups. Galaga is probably the first shoot 'em up I have ever played and still manages to hold my attention to this day. Platformers, jeez, far too many for me to name. There are a few FPSs I like, but only if they manage to be different enough from the rest. I have my fair share of fun with other genres as well. Except fighters, I tend to be pretty bad at those but it still doesn't put a hamper on the amount of fun I can get from them.

I was born in 1990, my first video game system was a Sega Genesis and it was probably the best thing I had ever had the chance to play. As the years went, as did my interest in the video games field. Parents and relatives usually got me game consoles for birthday and christmas gift, you wouldn't believe how excited I was when I got my first SNES. My older brother and I did all we could to pool money together to buy GameBoys (Possibly a GameGear at some point as well) and eventually the Playstation 1 and 2. I can safely say that I have interacted with every Nintendo, Sega, Sony, Microsoft, and a few Atari consoles and handhelds at least once. As of now, I still play games as often as I can, despite my game library has not been expansive as it once was when I was in my "prime." Since GameFly and various other rental places popped up, I have still been able to keep playing to my heart's content.

As of now, college usually eats up some days. Whenever I'm not doing college activities, I am improving my drawing abilities, watching movies, expanding my musical tastes both new and old, partying with friends, eating cultural food and, of course, playing games.

And I am a sucker for just about anything film noir, enough so that I occasionally write in that style. Rad stuff.

Brutal Legend's soundtrack = the most metal soundtrack ever made? (shortblog)
Jack Maverick | 8:45 PM on 08.08.2009 16 comments

As one of the many people who are excited about the coming of Rocktober, I did some research in seeing if there was anything new to expect in the game. My eye eventually caught interest in what seems to be the entire soundtrack of the game. A list of metal bands ranging from Black Sabbath to Whitesnake, with a few bands that I never heard of before thrown in there. You can view the list right here.

Two problems I already view in there:

1) Through The Fire and Flames? Really? They couldn't pick any other song by Dragonforce?

2) You have a bunch of metal bands in there, but Iron Maiden is nowhere to be seen. Now that's blasphemy.

Those two problems aside, the soundtrack seems pretty strong. I mean, they have Dethklok on there. It can't go wrong.

Is this post awesome? Vote it up!

That list is pretty amazing, except for fucking Dragonforce. They could've included Iron Maiden instead of that shit. :(

I would have liked Body Breakdown more.

And wasn't one of the trailer songs done by Iron Maiden?

Mastodon, yay! Also, no Iron Maiden is a bummer indeed.

Guitar Hero III made me sick as shit of that song. Seeing it in this list almost ruins the game for me. Almost.

As for Iron Maiden... yeah I agree actually. No Number of the Beast or Run to the Hills as a start is a lack luster, but nothing gross.

Hopefully they make fun of Dragonforce with that song. Also Mastodon, HELL YEAH!

1) Because that song by Dragonforce is the only one thats ridiculous enough to go beyond the realms of bullshit and into that wonderful place known as 'stupidly AWESOME!'. At least, as far as I've found by trying to listen to their other material (couldnt do that for long).

2) THAT IS BLASPHEMY! Holy shit, I knew they were gonna fuck up something with this game. Hopefully

Other than that, it seems to be a pretty wide selection of good ol metal bands.

Oops - Hopefully they just missed them out in that list, although missing out Iron Maiden would be a pretty silly mistake.

The games main character is called Eddie Riggs for fucks sake.

Eddie as in Iron Maiden's mascot.
Riggs as in Derek Riggs, Eddie's artist.

How the fuck do you leave Iron Maiden off the sound track.

Brutal Legend got shittier overnight.

Why Dragonforce, why? Oh well, the list is pretty friggin amazing with the exception of that. Includes bands that surprisingly aren't ridiculously mainstream. Coroner, Carcass, Angel Witch and Candlemass? Hell yeah.

Of course it'll be the most metal soundtrack ever made, only fitting for the most metal video game ever made.

But yes, that list overall is mightily impressive. We are pleased with:

Am I Evil?
Painkiller
Manowar!
Friggin' NITRO!
RACER X!!

Wow. Got all excited for a moment there. The vapours. It gives me them.

I'm not much of a metal fan,but its an impressive setlist. Its also awesome because it has The Metal and Master Exploder on it

It's a reasonable list, some are weak choices. Hopefully there will be a way to customise the soundtrack.
