The only time I ever played a Gameboy was when I visited family in Argentina. I was thinking of stealing it, I actually put the Gameboy in my bag the last day of my visit, but felt guilty and quickly returned it to my cousin.
@venus: LOL... It probably would have come down to that if my friend was'nt willing to part with it. I have'nt really seen one in this great of condition since the system launched back in the 80's, the screens on that thing seemed to get scratched if you breathed on it!!
I love it!! Plus, It's freakin huge too!!
The games look like Shite on the GB screen though, I was thinking when I was playing it yesterday, how the hell did we play this thing back in the day?!!
We're so spoiled nowadays, backlit screens and graphics that rival consoles, this shit was DOT-fucking-MATRIX, Brother!
The original Game Boy DPAD and buttons are suprisingly better than the portable systems now though, beleive it or not, that tiny ass dpad on the DS (and the same one on the DSi XL) kinda pisses me off.

... never had a gameboy... back then, they were really marketed very much as "kid's toys" and I was already an adult, so I tended to stick with PC gaming (though I kind of regret it now... stoopid marketing!)
Brings back memories of when I played my Game Boy Micro... Don't play it anymore, though. For portable gaming I'm sticking with iOS and still waiting for the NGP.
Anyway, I hope you have fun with it, and try not to breath on it! Haha!

Nice haul :) There's some good stuff in there, so I'm curious how much did you buy that all for from him?
That is some good stuff! I'm especially liking the Game Boy bag. I'd like a bag just like that to carry my GBA SP and DSi XL. To eBay!
Awesome stuff! I love your Chibiterasu and Sackboy dolls, they are adorable! :)
I have a Gameboy laying around somewhere, it might be at my parents house or something. I should find it.

I remember my first game boy. In all honesty, the system was kinda crappy overall, even brand new out of the box. With no backlight, you could'nt see it unless you tilted it a certain way (hey! that kinda reminds me of another certain nintendo portable that was recently released!). I always wanted a game gear, a nomad or a turbografx portable as a kid.... Lynx was ok too, but it just never got any games developed for it.
@alexbebop:
Lets just say it was less than the cost of one new retail xbox 360 or PS3 Game... I got a really good deal and he told me what he wanted for it and I actually gave him more.

Oh damn, I wish 12-year-old me hadn't traded in his OG Gameboy to Funcoland. 12-year-old me was an asshole.
I'd say the winner in this lot is most definitely Lufia & the Fortress of Doom. A wonderful game and probably the hardest to find out of what you've shown. While highly collectible, I'm still not a fan of how the North American version of the Chibiterasu plush looks. It just seems like a bit "off" to me if you know what I mean. Either that or I'm being too nitpicky. Nice stuff mate!
@Elsa
Actually, the Gameboy was also marketed to adults as well. There are commercials out there on youtube with an corporate executive looking guy playing tetris on the gameboy.

@funk:
I hear what your saying. They made millions and millions of those game boys. To find one in mint condition is why I thought it was cool.
And yeah, Chibiterasu looks a little off. I can't pinpoint it myself, but I hear what you're saying.
