The game is simply beautiful and revolutionary. I’ve been playing games for over fifteen years and I can tell you that Bioshock is one of the greatest FPS I’ve ever played. The gameplay is outstanding. What blows my mind is that some people thought it sucked. Who in the fuck are these dipshits? The artistic design in the game is phenomenal. How could you not like the game? I don’t like JRPG’s but at least I can see the beauty in Eternal Sonata & Blue Dragon. They reminded me of every other RPG I’ve seen, but I still don’t think they suck.
If you didn’t like Bioshock, maybe you shouldn’t play games again. Your standards are way to fucking high. The ones saying this game sucked are probably fanboys that are jealous, because its no on their console. Bioshock is one of those games that made me feel happy inside. It refreshed my memory on why I love to play games.
Give me some GOOD REASONS why Bioshock wasn’t a good game.
This is where I find most of these dipshits comments.
In retrospect, I do think BioShock has become a tad overrated and it didn't fully realize its potential and promise. However, it was still a damn fine game and one that only a stone-hearted rogue could accuse of sucking.
The only complaints that I had were the lack of inventory and an extreme lack of challenge. Other than that, totally stellar game.
Is that your TV Jack? It makes me cry when I think waht I paly games on.
The game was FAR from revolutionary though. It is a good shooter, but nothing new is brought to the table. Overhyped...
The "choice" system was a little too Molyneux (i.e. Black & White lolol I made a funny) for my tastes as well.
Since it didn't cure cancer, it sucks.
No this is my setup. I got these photos off the web.
Black incorporated guns really well, FAR from revolutionary.
System Shock 2: Remixed and underwater!
What would you consider revolutionary?
Bioshock is still a great game (even with random nitpicks) and a personal favorite of mine.
Uhh..... Deus Ex?
I mean, once you play the first Deus Ex, every other shooter of that type (RPG-elements, story characters susceptible to death, multiple ways to tackle obstacles) is kind of lacking...
Trust me on this one, go find a copy of that game and play it. The graphics are pretty awful by today's standards, but it has the gameplay to make up for it in spades.
I played both Dues Ex's. I have The invisible War on PC right now. Its a great games, but not like Bioshock. Bioshock atmosphere and detail put it on another level.
Detail and atmosphere has nothing to do with revolutionary. You are comparing graphics/detail to gameplay. Graphics/atmosphere/detail can NEVER be revolutionary. And I sure hope BioShock has more atmosphere and detail put into it than an a couple year old game!
However, in terms of gameplay, it didn't do all that much that was new or even all that interesting. If you strip away the fantastic atmosphere and story, it's a fairly run-of-the-mill FPS.
The world/atmosphere of Rapture really pushes Bioshock out of the realm of mediocrity into its spot among some of the best in history. Which is actually saying quite a lot.
I played through the game all the way through with the lights out, sound on surround, and my big ass tv right up to my face, so from start to finish it was fucking fantastic. I even liked the [1] ending I received.
Although it wasn't a revolutionary shooter, it was tons of fun, and the story and pacing was delicious. /done
What could have been added to the gameplay to make it better? Be able to drive in a sub through Rapture shooting at Sharks and Squid? That would be cool as hell, but it underminds the story. Im just saying, there wasn't much more they could have added to improve gameplay. It was near perfection. Also, its a FPS, what do you expect? Everygame you play these days only has some things added upon the basic genre. The same goes for RPG's.
The AI wasn't that bad. How could you improve it? The NPC run to health stations, to the water when on fire and hides around corners. Bioshock has the best AI yet.
I think making the Big Daddies slightly easier, but completely removing Vita Stations would have made the game significantly better. I like to be challenged when I play games, and Bioshock really just had no challenge whatsoever.
Even if that was only in the game as an option, I would have liked it a lot more.
I also found most of the plasmids to be fairly useless. A shotgun blast to the face was almost always more effective than setting someone on fire.
One other thing that came up when I was debating whether or not to play it again was that if I did play it again, how would I play differently? I did basically everything there was to do in the game aside from research every enemy, and that was just on one play through.
Ok, I will give you that. It is a fairly easy game, but it is damn near perfect for a FPS.
Wow, you need to get out of the house more...
My friend and I were discussing the vitachambers and someone said thet they would have been better if you had to pay money to use them. We all aggreed until I pointed out that over the course of the game you come across so much money that if you could carry it all by the end of the game you could fill a giant vault and swim in it like Scrooge McDuck.
Which Gcube game?
Which Xbox game?
Which PS2 game?
It was a great game, but the ending was the equivalent of being slapped in the face. Disrepectful. It still deserved a 10 out of 10, though.
Wouldn't that be awesome though? Hey Jack, that's one thing we could add to Bioshock to increase awesomeness. A giant money vault that held all the cash you collected over the course of the game that you could swim around in. I hope someone from 2k is reading this.
Speaking of Turok, remember that awesome death frisbee Predator rip-off thing? Razor wind I think it was called? I still have that cart sitting around, I should give that a whirl. Talk about awesome weaponry.
I've played all those games. Stop hating. Bioshock is good.
There is no reason why this game is supposedly better than Half-life 2, or any other games on the top of the metacritic lists.
I ask you, Jack, how is Bioshock better than Half-Life 2?
The atmosphere & story in Bioshock is leaps and bounds over Half-Life. The only thing that give Half-Life a edge are the vehicles and gravity gun, but the gravity gun ison par with Bioshocks telekenisis. BTW they both use Havoc physics.
