Last night a very fucked up thing happenned. It will change my household. My Sony Bravia blew a fuse and wouldn't work. This 60" piece of shit almost got thrown from my window......but it won't fit. I don't know how long till I get it fixed. Im not to happy right now, because i've got so use to playing games everynight with my buds.

I still have my pretty up-to-date laptop at home that has a HDMI output on it so with your guys help maybe I can find a way to use my laptop as a monitor for my PS3. I have seem it done, but I don't know what kind of shit to buy to make it work.

All help is apprieciated. It all else fails I will be buying some TF2 on PC to help time go buy.

Find a standard tv with audio/video input.

either that or pick up a video capture card for the laptop.

Afaik [u]NO[/u] Laptop can be used as a monitor directly, because it has only a video output and no input. Imagine the display as a normal tft monitor and the laptop is directly connected to it.
So it would be possible to use it as an monitor but you´d first have to crack open your laptop and disconnect the display from the laptop itself.

Though I think I´ve seen something that made it possible to get the video of the ps3 to your pc via wifi or lan but Im not quite sure about that.

You'll buy TF2 for pc, ay... this may be a blessing in disguise!

I think fanatic is right. You need video input to make it work, which few graphics cards have, and probably no laptop ones.

I have an HP laptop that has HDMI output. I researched online and saw a converter for like 300 bucks. No way im going to do that. I wish there was an easier way.

Oh man that TOTALLY SUCKS !!! This is what you get for buying an expensive Sony product. I used to own one of Sony's top of the line TVs, and in the 5 years I had it it broke down twice. Luckily I had purchased an extended warranty that covered the thousands of dollars in repairs it took to fix the TV both times.

SDTV's are dirt fucking cheap these days, and they can last AGES, I got one in my bedroom I use if the downstairs one is busy to game on, it's 13 years old and still works like a dream. HDTV's are cool, but SDTV's have the build quality to outlast them. Well mine has anyway.
