So a service called GameCrush ( http://prd.gamecrush.com/ ) is selling time with girls (apparently the rate is $8.25/10 minutes of hot, filthy gaming) so that gamers can play video games. With girls.
From the Press Release:
"GameCrush, now available in public beta, introduces an entirely new interactive social gaming experience allowing gamers to meet, match and pay to play online games with other users (PlayDates). GameCrush is the only online service that allows gamers to choose a companion to spice up their favorite online games. Both Players and PlayDates define the experience they want- either "flirty" or "dirty", choosing from some of the most popular console titles and casual web-based games."
What the fuck.
I don't know about you guys, but I rather prefer my "PlayDates" (dramatic pause for vomiting) to be with someone I can have a real date with; not some girl I just paid to play a fucking video game with me.
All this does, for me at least, is re-enforce the article Anthony Burch posted not to long ago about Jesse Schell's GDC 2010 Speech on how we're hurtling towards a Brave New World scenario, one where our lives are dictated by the scores and achievements set out by companies and corporations.
Speaking of that, since it's only for the XBox at the moment, I wonder if there will be achievements?
