Personally I find it as funny as it is sad. Lets not lie, we all know for a fact this thing will make a hell lotta money. I know the smart gamers won't go for it, but the desperate gamers will. Lol, maybe I should look into this, sounds like and easy job.
This made my day. Game Prostitutes. But it does make me wonder if they would be willing to play Brawl.
Lol, I just checked out the website, it says there was a service crash due to having 10,000 inquirers in 5 minutes, XD.
@NoMore - of course they'll play Brawl. That's why you're paying them good money. If I had some serious coin to spend, I'd get set up with some of the worst online turds known to man and force some hooker play them with me.
Damnation. That would be a good start.

"All this does, for me at least, is re-enforce the article Anthony Birch posted not to long ago about Jesse Schell's GDC 2010 Speech on how we're hurtling towards a Brave New World scenario, one where our lives are dictated by the scores and achievements set out by companies and corporations"
Really? To me it just re-enforces the idea that greed is good. I wish I thought of the idea.
If someone needs to fill a hole in their life by paying $6-60 of their hard earned money to play battleship with a reasonable attractive chick over a video skype chat, I don't see anything wrong with it.

@RetroSoldier
My assumption is it's a pretty abusive job. I'd assume everybody who uses this services uses it to be asshole and to get some reaction while they jack off.
I don't see why people think this gig is "easy" or anything. Personally I think it'd pretty mind numbing and irritating. Sort of like dealing with the stupidity of Fanboy Friday on a whole 'nother level.

I don't follow the correlation between gamecrush and achievements. All I see here is that it proves that sex sells.
Also, I find the whole idea to be vile.

No... Gamecrush is selling video/voice sex at $8.25/10 minute session. Any guy that would play to play online with a girl is an idiot and just isn't noticing that the person playing beside them in that online game IS a girl. Any really desperate guy can always join the H2O clan (sister clan to PMS which is an all girl clan) - and it's free. Gamecrush is not about gaming.
This actually sets a dangerous precedent in using consoles for the sex industry primarily because of the high quality video/voice chat. If PSN video chat was being used by the sex industry and they were profiting, it would make sense that law suits might soon follow (Sony's PSN terms of service violations) and unfortunately, if it can't be controlled, then we start getting restrictions on use, parental controls and other impacts on the average consumer who actually does use the service for gaming... and not for video/voice chat sex. It's not on the PS3 as yet (though frankly with the web browser access, etc, I'm a bit surprised)... but I guess we'll have to see how Xbox handles this.
Basically... this is why we can't have nice things. :(
(and Xzyliac... the girls who do this know exactly what they are getting into... or else they are incredibly stupid.).

@Elsa
While I was mostly replying to RetroSoldier's "Sounds like an easy job," comment there are very stupid people involved in practices like this. I knew some of them. >.>
Funny story I loosely knew a girl who was in the phone sex business and I can't tell you how much effort it took for her cousin and I to convince her that the dude's she was talking to were probably masturbating while talking to her. Sooo...yeah.

LMAO... I stand corrected... yeah, most of those ladies are likely too stupid to find a less demeaning job. Kind of sad really...
Of course it's demeaning and tacky. But imagine the potential for innuendo! "Can I wiggle your joystick?" "I hope you're holding your Wii remote firmly. Don't forget to put it in its jacket first!" "Go for a headshot!" "You're pushing all the right buttons..." If I were a lass, I'd sign up just to see how many of those I could fit into the space of an hour. Perhaps also to find out if there's any way of making a double-entendre out of "Do a barrel roll!"
Holy crap I am so up for this. I would be all like "Hi, I need you to go ahead and draw out their fire, while I snipe from a concealed location." and she'd be all like "What?" and I'd be like "Oh and I'm gonna put C4 on your back too, so try and get close."
I think the idea behind this is pretty dumb. I mean, it just reinforces a whole crapload of negative stereotypes about video games in general and sends out yet more negative waves towards REAL female gamers which is something we don't need. But I guess gamers in general should have expected something like this to come along eventually.
