I'm a slacker at heart, a slacker that spends most of his time playing guitar or playing games on the PC or the xbox 360. Sometimes I whip out my N64 or PS2 for some good old nostalgia. I like games with substance, games that I can play how I want (Deus Ex style, for example) and ones where I generally feel like I'm accomplishing something, and when I'm told I'm getting superpowers, I want superpowers dammit!

I have been meaning to buy Psychonauts for a while now, and was almost ready to fork out the cash for it a few days ago on Good Old Games.

Now I'm happy I didn't, as Steam is currently selling the game at the insane price of �1 for their Midweek Madness sale. Click here to go to the store page right now. I'd say you are a fool to pass this up.

Thanks for pointing this out dude. I've been meaning to pick this game up for a while now. It's too bad that its not on Gamecube, and that my PS3 isn't backwards compatible.

But $2 is a great asking price. Psychonauts is mine!

Everyone should try Psychonauts. It's not my favourite game in the world and I don't really like it that much but I can't say I regret playing it. It's an underrated game that overrated by a lot of gamers. I warn anyone thinking about buying it that although it's a good game it's decently old and has pretty dull gameplay at times. The plot, characters and overall feel of the game can make up for it in some cases though.

It's probably a great game, and for $2 it's hard to pass up. But if I've learned anything from the insane holiday sales, it's that I suck when it comes to actually playing all the shit I buy from Steam.

I just bought it for PS2 last Friday. Between then and now I have loved it, hated it, replayed a level due to a glitch, and lost my save data.

I'm not picking that up again for a few months.

I went through Psychonauts quite recently and had pretty much exactly the same experience as yourself. It isn't the best game in the world and the glitches (at least on the PS2 version) really damage the game as a whole, but still I wouldnt pass it up for a quid. Its worth a shot, if only to see what all the fuss is about.

I'm not giving up on it completely, it's just that I've put so much time in it that getting back to where I was will feel like a chore. I'm waiting until I forget most of it and then I'll start over.

Wow! That's pretty insane. I think everybody should buy it. Even if you're not sure if you'll like it. It's that cheap.
