Fuck no. The N64 one has been rereleased multiple times already, Nintendo should just use those resources to speed up the new Zelda we know they're making for the Wii. Not a redux of an N64 game like this, and not a port of a GCN game like Twilight Princess... Besides, Majora's Mask was way more fun...
At this point, I'd much rather thave that treatment applied to Majora's Mask
The thing is, I know I'd buy this as well.
It's most likely going to be another title in the Wii play series. They did it for Pikmin, and they'll most likely do it with this.
Just play Twilight Princess. It's the same game anyway.
I'm hoping this is a legit remake......updated graphics, some new content and shit. If it's just OOT with waggle I'm going to stab somebody.
Iron1c knows noth.
And yeah, I would guess it would be more likely to happen to MM, on account of it is'nt on the Virtual Console yet. Which ocarina of time is. And they could do alot more with a remake of Majora's mask then a remake of ocarina of time.
I could understand them doing a DS port like they did with mario 64. Not sure why they'd waste time bringing it to wii when we've got twilight princess, and a new title supposedly in the works. Of course, I'd still buy it day one if true.
What Tubatic said, they should do Majora instead. Imagine having a mask of your Mii face!! Or being able to play the ocarina by waggling the Wiimote! So many possibilities! ( rolls eyes and groans)
INB4 twilight princess is already out.
Twilight Princess is already out.
If they do this, I will burn all of my Nintendo stuff.
can't see this happening
Try to goggle The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Master Quest, its basicly just a harder version of the vanilla game but its kinda a remake since they changed some ingame material but kept the original game.
I think that would be pretty interesting, but it would have to be next-gen, and that game was just too short to shell out 60$ for again.
Is it too much to ask for a next gen game that isnt a fucking port Nintendo? And I include remakes in that sweeping generalization. And none of this TP bullshit, that was a gamecube game. So was Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Smash Bros and every other Nintendo first party game save the shitty tech demos and Galaxy. At least Brawl added the platformer mode, which was a great distraction.
How come a company can make such awesome and mostly original games on a fucking handheld, but fail so horribly when it comes to the console market?
at the moment i condemn this crap but if i see a video ill probably change all opinion.
I just started playing it for the first time on my game cube and the game is really great, the graphics are really shit but who cares. A remake would take resources that nintendo could spend into making a new zelda game for wii
Why would they remake Ocarina of Time again? They already released Twilight Princess in 2006.
Don't spread your filthy lies here!
If they update the graphics, then yes, I'll get it day-one. But if it's just ANOTHER direct port of the N64 version, then no thanks. I already have the Zelda Collector's disc and the Master Quest disc for the GameCube, plus the original cartridge --- I don't need another one.
I really hope this isn't the Zelda game Nintendo said was being worked on for the Wii, though --- I love OOT, but I'd much rather have a new Zelda game. They DID say the new one will have a lot of different stuff, so I'm pretty sure they weren't talking about this, but you never know with them.
Maybe. If it's done right, the add all the right things, but I don't think the Wii is fitting for such a thing.
I just can't care anymore. I want the new Zelda that will actually be a step forward, not this.
@ ArcticFox
I think you mean that you want new games that actually make advances. Which, beyond Galaxy, hasn't happened. Smash Bros. gets a pass in my book because it added a ton of new characters and stages, which is standard progression for advances in fighting games (even though it's not a fighting game). Mario Kart was technically a whole new game, but they dumbed down so many elements from previous games and it was totally uninspired.
I don't know why, but I just have a hard time playing old games. Maybe it's the graphics, maybe it's the level design. I hope it's not that, I hope I'm not that shallow. An upgraded version of OOT would actually appeal to me.
I'll still buy it, but I want something new.
I want a new title instead. Of course, it could be a remake done by a seperate company, kinda like Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes? Personally, I want them to leave the original alone... I have to many fond memories of it that I don't want ruined. But I'd totaly buy it anyway.
April Fools is in 2 days, people.
@Holmes
But that's two days from now. IT COULD BE REALZ!
Hmm.
Maybe.
Wait, so you think Nintendo would sell the rights for the game to be published on the 360 or PS3? That's absurd.
I mean, that's what you meant by current gen graphics, right?
Am I the only one who doesn't think this is an awful idea? I mean I'm playing OOT for the first time at the moment, and while it's full of Zelda goodness, the dated visuals, camera and convoluted controls really work against it. If this, as so many people think, is supposed to be the best or one of the best Zelda games (or games in general) ever, then it isn't because of that shit, so remake away, I say.
