Hello Everyone! I am new here, clearly, and I'm looking forward to becoming an active member. I already know quite a bit about the site due to lurking around and hearing about the crazy happenings through Conrad Zimmerman who, incidentally, is my fiance.

As for my interest in Destructoid, I am obviously a fan of video games, as well as board games and other related topics of dork-dom such as Penny Arcade, Nerdcore (mostly Optimus Rhyme and MC Frontalot), Jonathan Coulton, Dr. Who and Torchwood and all things C'thulu.

I'm not a pro at gaming as there are some games that kick my butt and make me cry, mostly FPS's and all things horror-related. I'm also not a fan of sports games or racing games, aside from the original SSX and Burnout. That said, once I find a game I really enjoy I strive for perfection and generally become somewhat obsessed. Recent games I've played include Viva Pinata, Professor Layton and the Curious Village, Twilight Princess, Rock Band, Guitar Hero (I, II, and III), Mario Galaxy (with Conrad), and Knights of the Old Republic I and II (though I gave up on the second one due to that psycho old lady that won't shut up. Maybe I'll pick it up again sometime soon). Games I'm working on now are Lego Indiana Jones and Penny Arcade: On the Rainslick Precipice of Darkness Part 1 (second play-through).

Older games I've enjoyed that have a special place in my heart include the Tekken series, Soul Calibur, Final Fantasy (mostly IX through XII), Spyro, DDR, and all of the Pokemon games. I also greatly enjoy pen and paper RPG's and have played in the past a variety including Dungeons and Dragons and a few White Wolf games from World of Darkness (and more specifically Vampire). I used to work at a board game store here in Phoenix, and loved every minute of it.

I should also mention an odd game-related quirk of mine. While I don't have the balls to play many FPS's and such, I do however have the priviledge of having Conrad who does indeed play these games. Much like a movie, I make it a habit to watch him play these so that I know the storyline, how the game plays, and the strategy that goes with it. Games of which I have this sort of knowledge includes Bioshock, Halo 3, God of War, Portal and Team Fortress 2, and Resident Evil 4.

Finally, I am currently in school to eventually be an Anthropologist. I'm in my final year, and then possibly off to grad school, money willing. As such, I have a tendency to look at things through this anthro-lens if you will, including video games and internets interactions. I'm mostly interested in urban anthropology, and possibly digital ethnographies (of which there are apparently only a few) and hope to incorporate gaming into this observation if you'll permit me.

I also love, love, love, the board game Arkham Horror and all of its expansions. I do own a My Little C'thulu. And finally, I love to draw (as is apparent by my banner). So, Destructoid, I present this for your inspection as a token of my affection.
