I was in the President of the United States' office. Only that it wasn't Obama, it was Bill Clinton. I kept trying to go on Destructoid, just so that the next day I would be able to make a blog about how epic it was that I went on Dtoid in the President's office. Only whenever I entered the url, it automatically took me to a pr0n site.
I've been thinking allot about the upcoming consoles. Not the ones right after these current ones, but the ones after that, and the ones after that.
Graphics can get better, that's a given. But what happens when shit's exactly like real life? When I walked into a Gamestop at the beginning of this generations life cycle, I stopped and played a round of Fight Night 3. That game was the best thing I had ever seen in my entire fucking life. It was totally realistic, you really actually felt like you were inside the game. A few years later I played Motorstorm on an HDTV for the first time and relived all those feelings of amazement and astonishment.
Like I said, games can get prettier and prettier but pretty soon we will hit a wall. People will get bored of the same old thing and Nintendo or whoever will have to reinvent the d-pad. This reminds me of when the Wii was first announced. I tossed and turned in my sleep in anticipation waiting for Nintendo to release those first, precious photos of the Wiimote and nunchuk.
And when those screens were finally released I was so fascinated by it, I couldn't get it out of my head. The thought of how awesome Wii sports would be, swinging my beloved Master Sword with a flick of my wrist. But sadly, when I finally slid Twilight Princess into that little black slot, I wanted to slit my fucking wrists. I was so dissapointed by what my "Ocarina of Time 2" was I didn't even finish the game.
But less Wii fappery and back to the issue at hand. What will future video games be. I really cannot wait to see where the video game industry will go. Will games go back to their roots? Classic, fun, and rather simplistic? Or maybe something that I cannot even begin to comprehend. I don't have a clue, I just hope that it's fun.
Thanks Dtoid. You have really helped me get through alot of things in life. If i'm feelin blue what's the first thing that cheers me up? Destructoid and all of you guys! Seriously thanks alot. [/emo]
A couple of days ago I was in my local electronics store looking for an AC adapter for my car. A policeman walks in with his partner. I notice he is buying some PS3 games, some NBA shit, a headset, that kinda stuff. As he is at the counter I can't help but overhear him talking with the cashier. They were talking about games. The conversation went something like this:
Cashier: Oh, PS3 fanboy are we?
Cop: No no no, these are for my son.
Cashier: Oh, I see. I have a PS3, but it's more of a media center I would say.
Cop: Oh, I wouldn't know, I don't play consoles, I'm a WoW kinda guy?
Cashier: No shit?! What server you play on?
Cop:*Says some servername that I don't remember on account of I don't play WoW*
Cashier: NO WAY! I play on the same server!
Cop: Well, aint that the wierdest thing. Whats your character?
They then proceed to exchange levels, classes, and screen names. I just thought it was interesting to see a person you would never expect to say those kinds about such a, well, nerdy subject. And this was'nt no "Pig" either. He wasn't fat or old.
Are you one of those people that always accidentally shuts off or unplugs someones console while they are in the middle of a game? I am. And when it happens, boy does it happen.
You see, just a few hours ago my little brother was playing Persona 3. He is about 78 hours into the game, so he is almost finished. He just so happened to be at a part with a long stretch with lots of story, but not so many save points. Since he's been playing for around 2 hours, I think, hey, I'll go play some Dreamcast. Being the dumbass that I am, I wasn't thinking straight. So instead of just putting the TV on another input and leaving the PS2 on, I accidentally press reset!
For a little kid, he sure knows how to punch. I'm so sorry little buddy, I DIDN"T MEAN TO! ;_;
