Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Wow. PSU really sucks the PS3's dick, huh? All this shit about PS3 being superior to the 360 and shit. Then they drop this stinker:
This does nothing but rectify the belief that the PS3 is the better console in the long run. We eagerly await more details on this huge title that could only possibly be rivaled by Killzone 2.
Rivaled by what? You mean that game that keeps showing up with doctored screenshots and shit on the net? Yes? Who the fuck cares about Killzone 2? Or Crysis?
On a side note, I do agree it's the more powerful system. But I'll never visit PSU again after that.
@eternal
lol. Yeah, it is a little biased, so I am not defending PSU.
Wow, a website called Playstation Universe has a PS3 bias.
Mind: Blown
@ shipero: Not all sites have a bias, but I'm just saying that I'm never going there again. Not that I ever did.
You'd think they could at least be a bit fair. Other sites have different sections devoted to each console, ala IGN and at least they aren't really biased. They all play other consoles. It's for the better that way.
Too bad Crysis would have to be ported in DX9 to even be compatible with the PS3 or 360. No current gen consoles support DX10 or Shader Model 4.0
Wow..hear I thought I knew all the PS3 sites..never heard of Playstation Universe.
Rather play on the personal computer
@iDano84:the ps3 doesn't use directX it uses open GL/ES

@linuxguy
I didn't know, I don't know a whole heck of a lot about the PS3 hardware. Just made an assumption. I just know it's not capable of crysis. At least not in the sense as it was meant to be ran. Possibly a wrapper could be used like is used with OpenGL and the 360. Calling the needed functions (not sure this has ever truly been done, only heard rumors, seems as if it would cause alot of overhead and inefficiency). I know that OpenGL and DX are just two entirely different beasts. No desire to know anything about OpenGL really, other than 3.0 is seriously late.
I have a deep seeded hatred for OpenGL. I tend to forget it exists. Maybe 3.0 will change my mind.
However, thanks for catching my mistake. Leave it to a *nix guy to catch an error when open source stuff is involved =p.
"Too bad Crysis would have to be ported in DX9 to even be compatible with the PS3 or 360. No current gen consoles support DX10 or Shader Model 4.0"
wrong. There are hacks on the pc to easily give supposed "DX10" features to DX9 running in windows XP. It looks the same and in fact runs better because its not vista.
@BahamutZero
What does a 'hack' for PC and winxp to give DX10 'support' have to do with the price of tea in china? I was talking about consoles. DX9 can look fucking amazing. However, it will only be as good as the developer who uses it. That will take us into a long discussion about the usage of DX coding, and Managed DX.
linuxguy picked up on my error in that PS3 doesn't support DX period.
