Well, as everyone knows the holidays are upon this. This is a good time to give to others I guess, but there is more fun in treating yourself. I have decided that I may go out and buy a PS3. The only thing that bothers me is that I have been a 360 fan up to this point (despite going through three 360 due to the ring of death), but I love the games. The games to me have always been the separation between the two systems. 360 has games like Gears, Halo, Forza, Mass Effect, and others exclusives that I absolutely love. When I look at the PS3, I don't even know what games that I would buy along with it. I know that hardware wise it is a better system, but it doesn't have any games to play or an online prescence like XBOX Live. Someone help. Am I better off buying one now, knowing that it will primarily be a Blu-Ray player, or just wait until games comes out for it.

As for games 2008 looks good but there are no guarantees. There is evidence that quality games can be made for the PS3 so I think its safe to say that future titles should keep getting better.
Check out http://www.metacritic.com/games/ps3/
If NO PS2 games... Get 40GB w/5 Bluray DVDs.

Uncharted, Resistance, UT3, & Ratchet & Clank.
( Are good starters! )
If you're into RPG's :
Oblivion : GOTYE & Folklore are good for PS3!
The Rest is your decision!
PS3...aside from warhawk, theres nothing for it online i cant play, and have it work better. With the exception of a few games like Ratchet and Clank (a series I love) and Uncharted there is really nothing else I want to play. There are some cool games I may check out like Heavenly Sword, but I can live without them. Overall there aren't enough quality games I really HAVE to play on the console yet. MGS4 isn't a make-or-break thing for me either. I don't give a fuck about Blu-Ray.
Wii...Again with the games...Mario Galaxy and Zelda, there is zero I'm interested in. I don't care for the little mini game compilations. The Virtual Console is enticing, but getting it for games I could find ROMs online for is dumb. I don't get the facination with Smash Brothers either.
My 360 is getting tons of attention, and I'm loaded with games that I have yet to really get into. I've been devouring Mass Effect for 3 weeks and I have yet to complete Bioshock, or the 2 episodes on HL2. There are so many games on the 360 it is hard to keep up. I'm gonna wait for at least 1 more price drop on the PS3, as I wouldn't get a non backwards compatible one. Hope this helps.
( Besides "One Night in Paris" DVD ) lol!
The only thing BluRay is good for is the discs hold sooo much more PS3 Game!
BLUray = Killzone 2
( blah blah blah... It's going to Own! I preordered mine back in July! )

As an owner of a BluRay Porn, it is worth watching.
If only so you can validate for yourself what boobs must look like in RL.
I thought that BluRay wouldn't allow porn on their format.
Then you'ld have a backlog of CURRENT good games to buy.

@ hiphop junkie
The Playstation Network IS FREE too!
Uncharted is a lot of fun, and I enjoyed Heavenly Sword (it's like God of War with Metal gear solid bosses), but Resistance was meh (I think it was overhyped because it was a launch game and the best at the time) and Motorstorm is just a standard racer, beautiful, but nothing special. And if you are actually interested in UT3 you are going to get it on PC.
Folklore was a game I wanted but wasn't willing to spend $60 on at it's launch and the more I hear about it (CheapyD from cheapassgamer had some complaints as well as the guys over at EGM) the less it interests me.
All in all there is a reason that Screwattacks top 10 PS3 exclusive only had 7 slots and even then 1 of the slots was Superman 2 on blu ray. I can only recommend it to someone who already owns a 360 if:
1. they really really want Uncharted or Ratchet and Clank
2. they want to get a 60 gig for the full BC
3. they are incredibly rich
4. they have wronged me and I want to hurt them
With that said 2008 should have some better games come out and I really don't expect the PS3's price to go down again for some time so whether you get one now or in 6 months there probably isn't much of a difference. I'd just hold out until you see a particularly sweet deal and survive on your 360 till then.
Your right, they aren't going to drop the price again anytime soon if at all because they are already losing so much money on it as it is. Thanks.
Except Hoopla.
HOOPLA!
Plus, you can swap out the hard drive for whatever size you like and you don't have to pay proprietary prices for said new hard drive.
Plus, Burnout Paradise is PS3 lead platform, and Little Big Planet and Killzone will be exclusives. LBP has the most promise of any videogame, ever, in my opinion, for networking, shared gameplay with friends and artistic creativity.
Also, easy video chat, bluetooth compatibility, and lots of niceties means it's my fav system.
The Q1 release schedule looks more packed than even this Christmas season, with MGS4, DMC, Burnout, Killzone II, LBP, GTA4... and that's all pretty much slated for Q1. Jan-March/early April should be FAN-friggin tastic.
that is all.
My PS3 broke 1 day after purchase. Also stop trolling or come up with more intelligent trolling bait.
half those games come out on the 360...plus GTA 4 will have exclusive content on the 360. when did killzone become a good game? last time i checked the first one was shit, and the new ones tech demo had no real gameplay. pass. LBP looks sweet though...no doubt.
