You may have noticed that I'm frequently tweaking the rules over time to make the competition more fun, more fair and to pull in more challengers who weren't in on the party from the beginning. This new spin to the rules has been up in the forums since yesterday. I figured a C-Blog was necessary to fully get the word out. All competitors can now make-up matches that they have missed. There are some caveats and limitations involved. Read below!
1) New matches for that day's theme character will take precedence. So make-ups can't happen when there are other challenges pending. I'd be able to get back to that person once any current daily challenges are taken care of.
2) Make-up sessions will only consist of the 10 matches with the theme character. The 5 bonus matches where the challenger chooses their own character will not apply.
3) A challenger wishing to make-up matches cannot pick and choose which characters to play as. They will have to go through the chronological order of days missed. Also, they will have to first play through the theme character matches for that day. This is to prevent challengers from cherry picking their best characters to heighten their win ratio.
4) Make-up matches will not count as days participated in regards to the prize for the person who competes the most. Doing all of the matches in a three day period does not win the shirt.
5)There have been a few occasions where I've offered up make-up matches to people who had challenged me but I didn't have time to fight. These count as regular matches, not as make-ups. You'll still get your bonus 5. It will still count towards the Fight Night t-shirt prize.
If you you're on the fence about joining in the contest, I hope that this pushes you over to the side of fisticuffs. You don't have to worry about not being able to catch up to the scores of the early adopters (and really only one person so far has played every night. Most have only pulled in 2 or three). Also, if you're a normal-type person with a life that has other things to do, you aren't really penalized. Plus, my daily fight schedule has a lot of openings. I work the midnight shift and wake up two hours early for the contest. I'd like to actually spend that time playing Street Fighter as opposed to waiting for a challenge and wishing I was still asleep. So, fill my empty slots... um, I mean, er... You know what I mean.
If you haven't found the Forum Post that contains the rankings, which is updated on most days, you can find that
right here. I'm trying to cut down on my c-blog cloggage, and it seems to be working pretty well so far.
Also, tomorrow (Saturday) I am not working. My first real day off in weeks. I intend to spend the bulk of the day switching back and forth between consoles playing Street Fighter. Soif you see me online, drop me a challenge!
Finally, the obligatory link to the rules.
Lately I've been practicing my Deejay, I'm interested in seeing how he does against your Ryu :) Hopefully I have time to play tonight!
Are you lovingly caressing E. Honda's thigh in that picture? He seems pretty pleased.
Thanks for putting all of this together, man. It's been really fun stepping out of my comfort zone with some characters I hardly ever use.
oh my. i still have a chance here...
@Senisan,
Good, good. I'm looking forward to it.
@Char,
Yep. I loves me some E. Honda. Also, I'm glad that you're enjoying things so far. It's been really been a kickass experience for me as well. Oddly enough, no pun was intended there.
@Shin,
Yeah, dude. Keep at it. You had a great string of victories last time out.
@Shin.
And by that I mean to say, we haven't fought yet. Let's get on it. I need to not comment when averaging 3-4 hours of sleep a day. :\
YAY! I have quite a bit to make up for... now if only I could get this Finals studying out of the way...... >.>()
See you online, BROTHER!
Hey, guys. I'm going to be a bit late tonight. Late as in 10pm-ish EST. If you can't make it then, we'll make up tomorrow or at some point soon.
I'm pretty sure I'll be on tomorrow. I'll try not to suck.
