I hugged Balrog and all I got was this lousy t-shirt. We are in the final two days of official fighting in the contest. After 34 days of old-school 2D Remixed Street Fighting action, we are finally nearing the end. Let me just get to the results here quickly, and then on to the recap. 1st: Senisan82 PS3 2nd: DanMartigan 360 3rd: Char Aznable 360 4th: C2C Shiro 360 5th: y0j1mb0 PS3 6th: TrailerParkJesus 360 7th: Nilcam PS3 8th: Rab 360 9th: kirbilot PS3 10th: Smurfee McGee 360 11th: casualweaponry PS3 12th: Cataract 360 13th: Genki-JAM 360 14th (tied): cwal37 PS3 14th (tied): NoLaw PS3 As I said before, tonight's 360 matches with Balrog and tomorrow's PS3 matches with Dhalsim are the last official days in the tournament. Wednesday and Thursday will be set aside for make-up matches on the 360 and PS3 respectively. I'll be online each night between 8-10pm. We've made it this far, so I'm sure you know how it works. This weekend I want to throw out a ton of time for final make-up matches. I'm not sure how the schedule is going to go, because I may or may not be working all weekend. So it's going to go one of two ways: 1) I don't have to work this weekend, I take a break on Friday and then have a huge 12-hour Street Fighter blitz on Saturday, or 2) I have to work all weekend, so I suck it up and fire out 6 hours of play on each day. I should hopefully know more by Wednesday, so I'll give an update along with the Cheapest Player Nominee post. Sunday will see the final weekly update, as well as the final nominee for Cheapest Player. Voting for the Cheapest Player Award will be happen in the comments. One vote per Dtoid community member. You do not have to have competed in the contest to vote. Finally, the winners of all prizes will be anounced on the following Friday. Here is my final word of the day: this past month I've devoted nearly every last second of my free time to this contest in one form or another. And every step of the way it's been an absolute blast (with the exception of the frustration caused by learning to make the Xbox d-pad work better than a 2600 joystick). I also realize that you have all given massive amounts of your time to be a part of this contest and really make it the huge success that it has become. The Destructoid Community and especially you guys, its finest fighters, have given me some of the greatest gaming moments that I have experienced ever. So, thank you all. These are the final days. Let's make them great! (Remember to check out the Destroy Haxan Forum Post for the most up-to-date rankings and schedule information).

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

Damn, I was really off my game this weekend. I guess I'm pretty much out of the running if my Akuma couldn't pull through for me, but fuck it. I was in this for the awesome battles, not the prize.
So when all is said and done with the contest, and we play again some time, are you finally going to pick someone else? lol
For realz, I'm glad you're having fun and that you've actually taken things away from it. I just thought it would be a fun way to get practice in against all of the characters and to learn their "remixed" styles. I had no idea that it would be anything more than a few fun matches and some healthy competition for anyone else. I'm glad to see that it's more than that.
@Char,
Count on it. I'm always going to love the straight-up shoto battles the best, but mixing things up throughout a night is definitely the most fun way to play. Besides, now everyone is used to my Ryu fighting-style. Playing as everyone else might help you guys to forget and improve my chances!
Feel free to hit me up anytime. After this contest is over, I'm jumping into this idea that I have for a set of episodic levels in LittleBigPlanet. I know that will become frustrating and I'll welcome the break every now and again.
Maybe for Fnf.
Anyway, this is one excellent contest, and I've had some fun.
Major props to you, Haxan, for taking the time to do this.
SFIV contest coming soon?...haha
And ditto what smurfee mcgee said
I'll be honest though Haxan, I can't wait till this contest is over so we can REALLY throw down in Street Fighter.
@jimbo,
I totally agree. It's going to be awesome to just get into some free matches with no stipulations. I'm glad to know that the fun won't stop just because the contest ends.
can't wait
