Destructoid. Oh how I love my destructoid. Only problem is, everyone is split right down the middle on what platform is best. No, I don't mean the flame wars raging between the PS3 and other consoles; I mean the Console Vs. PC debate.
You can't deny the fact that PCs are slowly edging their way towards a simplified, more console-like architecture, and you can't deny that Consoles are getting more and more features that only used to be found on a PC. With every new generation of consoles and operating systems, Consoles and PCs become more and more like the other.
From this we derive the idea of harmony between the two platforms.
It is only a matter of time until we have an absolute hybrid platform.
-PCs have the best control schemes.
-Consoles have the most comfortable control schemes.
-PCs have the best online support.
-Consoles have the easiest online support (and cheapest).
All of these aspects are being slowly churned together. Sad, but true, the Phantom would have been the closest thing to this Merge. Imagine, Steam on a Console. Something as simple as that - having the complete catalog of games for the taking right from your couch with the lapboard controls.
So until then, flame on!
Also, Hawt, I love your about me picture. Your gaming area looks great and is riddled with humor (and millions of dollars)!! :)

Also, I've yet to come across anybody (regulars that I remember rather) that games PC ONLY!
There will be some convergence, but never total, console makers want too much control for them to ever be PCs. MS will never give you the freedom to run whatever code you want on a 360, ever.
So true.
Look at the Mac. I've read that there has been 8 times the amount of exploits found in macs every month than PC.
There won't be viruses until lots of people use the platform. Lots and lots of people are starting to use consoles. Ding Ding Ding.
Im one of the 10%, a regular pc only gamer. The only reason I didnt bought a 360 is because of the rrod. I live in south america, if the thing breaks then Im screwed.
I believe that Microsoft is working on developing a platform (the 360), easy enough for developers to port the games of the 360 to the PC. The whole games for windows thing.
Look at mass effect, is not a lot of job to do the port to the PC.
