My community blog has been decidedly unloved as of late, but I have had good reason.
Those of you that know me know I am a law student in Washington DC. My passion for all things video game-related and my continuing legal education recently spurred me to launch my own blog,
lawsofplay.com. While still in its early stages, the site is intended to cover and analyze law-related issues in the video game industry. I figure it's safe to talk about my blog here because it really doesn't compete with DTOID's core audience-- thereby excluding me from being a robot-hating spammer. That said, if there are any law students or lawyers on DTOID, or even just business or journalism majors looking for a chance to write, send me an email (lawsofplay AT gmail DOT com) and perhaps we can work something out... I need all the help I can get getting this thing off the ground.
Speaking of help, DTOID's own
VirtualGirl has recently agreed to help design a banner for my site! Those that have stopped by her community blog and checked out her artwork know that this is truly a generous gift!
Aside from working full-time and launching a blog this summer, I've found little time to do much else. I've tried to get in some Xbox Live when I have the chance, but, thankfully, I'm done with work this Friday and can't wait to meet
electro lemon,
linde,
huskyhog,
workman,
blindside,
grim, and all the other DTOIDers on my friend's list for some games in the near future.
Lastly, I'm headed back to my hometown for 5 days or so on Friday. Why is this interesting you ask? Because my hometown is none other than the "Land of Greybush"-- Sarasota, FL. With any luck I'll run into Workman stumbling around north of Fruitville, in the Mexican area of town, trying to steal back his iPod.
Definitely send me an email; I'm a big fan of your community blog work here at DTOID.
I should have posted this news the day I started the site! I'm already signing Cowzilla on board to help out; he's got a great writing background and it'll be nice to have a fellow DC writer.
Again, thanks so much for the support everyone!
