I would love a follow-up to this story in ten years.
I'm pretty sure if he's educated by these particular parents, he'd be better off going to public school in the worst district in America.
I really feel bad for this kid. It's a parents responsibility to be a paradigm of reason and refute ridiculous ideas like that, and by doing so teach the kid common sense, not to give in to such a ludicrous request. I really hope he reconsiders for the sake of his own future :(

Wow, this is terrible. Someone should sue the creators of Guitar Hero IMMEDIATELY for ruining this kid's life.
I would usually never say this, but why the hell didnt he learn to play a real guitar instead!? If he put so much dedication into it that he would drop out of school, then he could've become a profesional and join a famous band, and become filthy rich!
And I still don't care. If he wants to waste his life that's fine. At least he's still getting an education on par with what he was getting.
I love this story, if i tried this when i was young i would have probably woke up a week later with a bruise on my head.

Makes you wonder just how awesome this kid must be. Nah, instead of going to school, growing up and graduating with my friends I'd rather stay at home and fill out work books.
