While talking to the Electro Lemon earlier tonight (what other gaming sites talk to their readership so freely?), he happened to point out that Googling CTZ brings up Destructoid as the number four result. When I went to check this out myself, I happened to notice that Wikipedia has an article on CTZ. Unfortunately, it's not a Wiki entry about how amazing I am. Nope, far from it actually. Apparently, CTZ doubles as the center of your brain that causes you to vomit. From Wikipedia: The Chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ) is an area of the brain which receives inputs from blood-borne drugs or hormones, and communicates with the Vomit Centre, to initiate vomiting. The CTZ is close to the area postrema on the floor of the fourth ventricle and is (necessarily) outside of the blood-brain barrier. The neurotransmitters implicated in the control of nausea and vomiting include acetylcholine, dopamine and 5-HT. There are also opioid receptors present which may be the mechanism by which opiates cause nausea and vomiting. Well fuck. Whatever, CTZ will always stand for CyberneticTigerZ (The force of 3) to me!
