I have cancelled my xbox live subscription because im tired of being charged double the US for a watered down service, no video market place, no free stuff (aegis wing) and I wasn't using it. I am also a little short on money and I wanted to get one more game before being broke.

I'm pretty pissed about Aegis Wing actually. The video marketplace sucking compared to the US, I'm not too bothered about because I won't pay to download what I can torrent for free.

I'm not a huge online gamer. I suck at multiplayer deathmatches because I'm not one of those fuckers who memorize maps and shit, but I like to have Gold just in case. It's nice to just have there, for the occassional Worms round or a little co-op in GoW or Crackdown. Of course, I only got a yearly subscription because I had a load of spare cash, it's nothing I'd purchase over a new game.

Honestly, I haven't been using my Xbox Gold subscription much either. I've been pretty busy the past couple of months (GameTAp on the PC isn't helping much either).

I've always been more of a single player person myself anyway -- though I would love to play an online version of Street Fighter Alpha 2.

I live in the UK and have Aegis Wing.

Was easy to get hold of really. I just made up a new .Net Passport account saying i lived in america and used it to set up a new gamer profile on my xbox.

Whenever i log on to that profile i get access to the American XBL marketplace.

I have a japanese account through the same method to get the demos from their region.

I'm not bothered about TV shows or movies so i'm keeping the two silver accounts and downloading the demoes when available.

I thought you could get the video marketplace with a silver account. IMO, the only thing a gold membership will let you do is play multiplayer over Live. Things like Aegis Wing don't do much for me, but I am glad to see MS making some sort of effort to reward gold members.

I play online too much to even consider cancelling it!
I like it, although �40+ was steap but i love to play online.
