I have always admired CCP and it’s most popular creation: EVE Online. Not least of which for it’s back story and almost entirely player-run economy. But no matter how many times I try I can never get into it. It always turns into a menu-navigating mining-fest.
When long time EVE fan Dire Lauthris contacted CCP for more information on his favourite game to use in a movie he was making. He got more than he expected. He was invited to the CCP offices and given all the help he could have ever asked for, including the use of their own professional software (which churns out some damn fine space-battle filled trailers and movies) and even their in-house voice over artist to narrate the short film.
I feel the same way about the game. I totally see an advertisement or a video of the game and I want to try out the trial again, but then I actually play it and I'm like "wow wtf is this?".
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Such a shame.
