The head gnome in charge of
PlayingWithMyWeiner.com, the only gaming site run by a chick with two, count 'em TWO weiners!
As far as particulars, I am a WoW player, with a 80 gnome rogue and 70 gnome tank on Lothar US.
I dig RPGs, both Japanese and Western. I'm excited by games with good writing. Visuals are great, but are less important to me than the overall experience. That's not to say that I'm a casual gamer, but rather that I'm a Dragon Quest-type gamer, not a Final Fantasy type (though I play and enjoy both series.)
Right now I'm playing WoW, Fallout 3, Little Big Planet, DQ IV, and whatever doesn't suck on my iPhone.
You read too many sci-fi books. You cute fascist, you
Less to count, means if I decide to stay up tonight it won't be so late.
Only joking, vote OBAMA! Fuck Fox News. Also, OBAMA IS NOT MUSLIM YOU HEADCASES!
Well, if you want to live in a democracy, you should probably be involved in the democratic process. I'm not saying you should get out, but it seems a little lame to not take any interest in one's own government.
That said, if you're uninformed (and no one really has an excuse for being uninformed, what with the internet and all) or you genuinely don't like ANY of the candidates or their positions, then fine. Don't vote. Otherwise, people need to get off their asses and do their part.
I think people are underestimating how dumb you are.
Brilliam had an excellent post on this so read that, vote, and then play games :D
First time too.
Like I said in another thread, I don't believe either of the candidates will be good for me or the nation so I'm wasting my vote on 3rd party.
@King3VBO
"Voting allows you to have your say on what goes on in your country. Anyone who can vote and doesn't is an idiot."
Call me jaded, but that's simply not true. Our votes, specifically on ballot questions are more "polite suggestions" and not really having a say. As for the president, people place too much value in voting for it. The senate/house is the most important branch of the government and that's the one to be concerned with. Anyone honestly believing that either candidate is going to enact "change" without the backing of the senate/house is delusional.
Voting for the sake of voting is the wrong reason. You should be voting because you believe in the candidate and support them, not because some schlub ignorantly shouted "VOTE!" a billion times.
And if some asshole on here tells me I can't voice my opinion just because I don't vote, then fuck YOU asshole I pay WAY WAY to many fucking taxes as it is.
(2) There is no such thing as a wasted vote. If you live in a state that typically goes opposite your vote, it still counts as far as raising that percentage in your favor. Then other people see that percentage and say "Wow, looks like the [insert party here]'s are starting to become more active in that state." This affects the way people see your state.
(3) If you have a problem with your taxes, vote to change them.
Now why should I vote?
You want people to really vote, they should hand out things that are useful to people like money or gas cards. Not some fucking thing thats going to make you gain weight liek food and starbucks sucks balls anyways. It might be a lot to ask, but maybe I dont like waiting in line 4 to 6 hours just to fucking vote.
The process is one giant clusterfuck.
No one is going to beg you to take your piece of responsibility for the world around you. That is something you have to come to on your own terms.
As for me, I stood in line for 2 hours. I took an ipod. Wasn't all that bad. I met a lot of cool people in line. Also, I did all that to vote democrat in a state that is sadly ALWAYS republican. But I did it because it is what you do.
I know people that wait in line twice that long for a video game system. Not that it matters, but I felt I should add SOMETHING game related to this conversation! LOL

No, don't vote if you're not informed on the issues and the politicians. Please don't.
THANK- FUCKING- YOU.
You said it yourself, it's a right. Not a civic duty, a right. It doesn't have to be exercised.
So, you're saying I shouldn't eat the pie just because I'm not hungry? Good luck with that, sucker.
