As far as particulars, I am a WoW player, with a 80 gnome rogue and 70 gnome tank on Lothar US.

I dig RPGs, both Japanese and Western. I'm excited by games with good writing. Visuals are great, but are less important to me than the overall experience. That's not to say that I'm a casual gamer, but rather that I'm a Dragon Quest-type gamer, not a Final Fantasy type (though I play and enjoy both series.)

Right now I'm playing WoW, Fallout 3, Little Big Planet, DQ IV, and whatever doesn't suck on my iPhone.

Did you pre-order the Amazon exclusive Fallout 3 Survival Edition? I did, back in September. Did you receive it
today, on release day? I didn't, and neither did hundreds of other people.

According to the Fallout 3 user forums, Amazon vastly underestimated the amount of Survival Edition's they'd
need, and took too many pre-orders. As a result, some people had their orders cancelled today, along with a
$20 "don't hate us!" gift certificate from Amazon. Who had their orders cancelled? Not the late-orderers; folks
who pre-ordered the Survival Edition as late as last week received the game today, while some of the earliest
pre-orderers were left in the lurch.

But wait, there's more. Of those who were lucky enough to actually *get* the Survival Edition, most did not
receive it today, on the day of release. People who pre-ordered in the last two weeks were given Amazon's new
option of "guaranteed day of release", but everyone who ordered the game before that and paid extra for one-
day shipping (that would be me) will not receive their order until tomorrow at the earliest.

Way to go, Amazon. I will think long and hard before I take you up on one of your "Special Offers" again.

They never screwed me over for harry potter pre-orders, but I can see them underestimating the demand for a videogame from a store like theirs.

They cancelled older preorders instead of newer ones? That's screwed up.

This happened to me with the Dethklok Dethalbum CD Special Edition pre-order last year, minus the $20 gift certificate.

As for Fallout 3 itself, I can't wait to build my new computer and play it!

I ordered with really slow shipping, so I'm getting it later anyway. Just checked my mail, and no cancelation order for me, even though I ordered early.

so you pre-ordered a few weeks back and did the one day shipping? and then they ran out, so they gave you a $20 gift card? and your game will be here tomorrow?
If that's the case, I can understand your frustration, but I think a $20 gift card more than makes up for the 1 extra day to get it.

I ordered mine in July and I got it today. It came with a Pipboy 3000 clock, an art book, extra dvd, and a bobble head.

No, my game will be here tomorrow. No $20. Several people had their orders flat-out cancelled and only got the $20 to make up for it.
