Well, it seems as though I've been able to draw a bit recently, and of course, I want to share them with my Destructoid family. There's a lot here, and if you're an old movie snob, you'll hopefully enjoy a good deal of them. And hopefully I'll be coloring a good chunk of these soon. Here we go!
I had the idea of making a Mario style Laural and Hardy drawing a couple weeks ago, so kept bouncing around in my head, so I had to vomit it onto paper.
Which got me rolling on doing other old movie stars in Mario style. Such as Luigi as Charlie Chaplin.
Or Wario as W.C. Fields. (I won't hold it against you if you don't know who he is)
Luigi as Harold Lloyd.(You may not know who he is, but you should at least know this scene)
Or Mario as Groucho Marx. (Strictly coloring in black and white is tougher then I thought it'd be!)
If you're one of the younger folk around here. Don't worry, I have non old fart stuff for you too.
Dawwww, Luigi pre eating a mushroom... Why is his head so disproportionate to his body?
I figured out, Goombas are kinda mushrooms also. So why couldn't a Toad mate with one and turn out one of these scary ass things?
Dig Dug is such a Violent game.
Of course so is Mario.
And sexy. Mario is sexy.
I figured with all the black and white movies I drew characters from. I should at least have one everyone can get behind. Hopefully Mikey will approve.
Om nom nom nom!
So hopefully that'll tide some of you over till I can draw some more. I have some more stuff in the pipeline. We'll see what happens.
Thanks for looking, See you all next time!
As always great stuff Turtle!
Yeah, it sure appeals to Destructoid's 90+ demographic...or anyone else younger who has seen these movies.
ALL OF THEM.
youre the man, im glad to see you drawing again!
*runs into a corner and cries*
The Mario one I colored like the light source was coming from directly above. So that shading was intentional.
I would totally buy a shirt of that.
Holy shit.
These are all amazing! I particularly liked how you did Luigi as Charlie Chaplin, it's such a smooth drawing. And yes, they all belong on shirts.
Loving the Dig Dug blowing up Fygar, Mario ripping the wings off a Koopa Paratroopa and the Frog Mario escaping a Big Bertha!
You have a very cool, unique drawing style!
I could see some of these made into shirts...
Make into a T-Shirt.
Naow.
Good yob.
Keep up the awesome work, man. Kickass arting.
