I was among those that planned my Thanksgiving around the release of the first module of DLC for Gearbox Software's Borderlands. As a PC gamer, I was dismayed to learn that while the XBox 360 and Playstation 3 get the DLC tomorrow, November 24th, the PC has had absolutely no details or comments beyond that it will not be getting the DLC on said date. I have not heard anything definitive in crawling through the Gearbox forums, and my paranoia has begun to lead me to believe this is a situation where PC gamers are yet again being fully screwed. The week delay on Borderlands between console and PC releases wasn't something fun for me, and it lowered my opinion of 2k as a publisher substantially. The fact that this is now happening yet again with the DLC isn't surprising, yet now it's really affecting me. Where I would have had the chance to enjoy the new content on the Thanksgiving break, now it will come out amidst the onslaught of college finals. To say PC gamers are getting a raw deal these days is an understatement.
I disapprove of PC gamers being screwed over. I also disapprove modding weapons in Borderlands... which is all too easy, that's enough of a reason for why you never play with kids or join public games at all. I do approve of Gearbox however, they've proven themselves useful to the community, being quick with responses on the forums and so on. Need more voice support tough.
Now, what should we name the time between the release for consoles and the release for PC? Con-time? Clownass-time, as it generally just pissed us off when the console owners get it beforehand. I do see the logic of having the release for PC a time after the console release tough, it's financial.
I'm guessing it'll just be late, like the game was for PC as compared to consoles. Since it was made with consoles in mind it probably just takes a little extra time to tweak it for the PC. Plus, it seems like a lot of the times DLC packs that get a console and PC same-date-release cause a lot of issues (ie: Fallout 3) so hopefully they just take the extra time needed and release it without causing a shitton of problems.
To be honest, I don't blame them for delaying or possibly not releasing it on PC. People pirated the living fuck out of it because the online play works with a pirated copy. Chances are people will just nick this too.

A shame, really. I've still got to get a single crash myself :/

They have fixed the character deletion bug. But that doesn't mean that your "character save" may become corrupt if the game crashes while you are saving. There is a reason for why there's a warning saying: "Do not turn off your console when you see this symbol" etc. I can't remember the text for the PC, but it's something along the same lines.

Borderlands keeps crashing on me and now it's corrupted my save game. A level 30 character down the toilet. Not happy.
Ali D, I thought they fixed the character deleting bug? How bizaare.
