About
For those of you who are interested in learning more about me as a person and gamer, I suppose I can supply a little bit of info here. Hi. My name is Joseph Orellano, but please, call me Joe. As of November 2, 2009, I’m a 25 year-old male, and I live in rural northwest Alabama, where there is absolutely nothing fun to do besides play video games, watch movies or drive 50 miles in any cardinal direction in order to get to a city where there are more activities/better restaurants.

I’m employed as a staff writer/head photographer/Webmaster/columnist/acting associate editor for a community newspaper that covers an area over three counties. I’ve always been a person who prefers to keep a small group of extremely close friends. But I can also work like a social butterfly whenever the need arises. The small group of friends is an exception when it comes to gaming, however, because that’s my favorite passion, and everybody who loves gaming is my friend. =)

My personality can be described as easy-going, friendly, laid back and mellow. If you want to get deep and psychological with me, then my personality archetype is pretty much exactly embodied in the definition of an INFJ. I pride myself on being open-minded and tolerant when it comes to different beliefs, cultures, viewpoints and lifestyles. This is extremely important since I live in the heart of a portion of the United States where racism, prejudice and narrow-mindedness can be found in an overwhelming portion of the population. It really drives me crazy sometimes and pisses me off that people can be so completely ignorant and hateful for no reason whatsoever. But hopefully in the near future I will be relocating far away from it, to start on a new beginning. I’m fairly liberal when it comes to politics, and I believe in God and that Jesus Christ is my personal savior, as well as the world’s. However, I do not push my viewpoints on anyone else who does not wish to listen, and I’m not going to hate anybody if they disagree with the way I think and live my life.

My favorite game console is the PlayStation 3, so far, and you can find me playing on the PlayStation Network under my gamertag, GreyTigerFox. I’ll explain the reasoning for the name, if you’re curious. I chose Tiger because that’s one of my favorite animals. They’re powerful, stealthy and awesome-looking. Foxes are swift, clever, and sly. Grey is one of my favorite colors. Put them all together, and you’ve got yourself a GreyTigerFox. :) It should also be noted that the Auburn Tigers are my favorite college football team, and I’ve earned the rank of “Fox” on all of the Metal Gear Solid video games (which are among my favorite!) I wanted to make “TigerFox,” but that name wasn’t available on the PSN, so wherever you are TigerFox, if I see you in an FPS, beware, because you’re going to get fragged. A lot. =) I prefer the nickname "TigerFox" for short. "Deadly as a tiger, clever as a fox." - that's me.

I also have an Xbox 360. My gamertag is GreyTigerFox there, as well. However, I only have the free membership, because I refuse to have to pay more money to play video games online when I’ve already got to pay money to get Internet access in the first place!

Feel free to follow me on Twitter @jorellano (or just visit http://www.twitter.com/jorellano) And then you can also find me on Facebook by visiting www.facebook.com/joeorellano. Just please be sure to include a message about who you are, and why you want to be my friend. Mentioning you’re a member of Sony’s GAP wouldn’t hurt much, either. ;)

I love all kinds of music with the exception of country, most rap and hiphop, and bluegrass... those genres don't gel with me too well. I'm more of a rock (nearly all its subgenres) classical (I was an all-state Tuba player in high school, and spent most of my primary and secondary education in either the orchestra or the band) techno, blues, jazz and more kind of person. Some of my favorite bands/artists are, in no particular order: Muse, Led Zeppelin, Counting Crows, Bush, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, The Black Crowes, Journey, DJ Tiesto, Antonin Dvorak, Giuseppe Verdi, Metallica, Collective Soul and so many more... :)

I think that’s enough information to the basis of a good conversation, so, feel free to send me a message anytime. See you on the PlayStation Network! :)

PlayStation’s Move controller has finally arrived. I spent the majority of the past weekend familiarizing myself with the controls and its subtle nuances, and after a few playthroughs of the currently available demos, I focused my time on Sports Champions. Within that multi-sport title, I picked-out a few of the most fun games for my review: Archery and Gladiator Mode. Also, I added a tiny splash of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 for golf lovers out there.

Does the Move work? Is it easy to control? Does it feel natural? Is it really as precise as it has been touted to be? Answers to all of those questions and more in the video below. (Note – the video is also available to view in 720p HD! Just click the YouTube logo in the bottom right-hand corner to go to that page, then click the button to view it in HD!)

More game mode reviews will come later, and you can bet that I’ll be discussing them in the next Aimless Podcast! And if you're wondering, Aimless Podcasts is an independent gaming site that's made by gamers, for gamers. The staff is made of members from Sony's Gamer Advisory Panel, however, we love all games on all consoles, and our views don't necessarily match the views of the GAP - since the GAP doesn't really have a single view of its own to begin with! We write our own articles, put up our own video reviews, and every week, we release a podcast. So check us out and let us know what you think!

Wow... you sure do a nice job with the video (and you have a really nice voice for podcasting). I like the picture in picture to see the motions in context with the on screen video. I started watching this on the other site, but finished watching it here.

As you said when playing MAG, it does seem that your arms might get tired after awhile... especially with something like archery.

I like how the shield actually starts to break down and the motions also seem fairly realistic.

Oh... and you might add in an explanation that Aimless Podcasts is just a bunch of friends from the dead/dying Sony GAP site (Gamer Advisory Panel) and not any type of official gaming website. It's really not a lot different than many of the community podcasts that happen here on Dtoid. As you've likely noticed, there is a bias here against people pimping their own websites (and it's a valid bias as some sites post their stuff here primarily as advertisement for their own site and not because they want to be or are community members here on Dtoid.)

I'd like to see the video from MAG though! I'm quite curious about the motions done corresponding to MAG actions (like the knifing you were talking about).
