I like COD, I really do. The game obviously has some serious flaws but the 60 Fps on console and fast paced brainless gameplay is fun. However, I have often been in the camp of 'It's just the same very year' and was willing not to buy it this year. Having watched the Multiplayer reveal though, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it actually looks like they've added some cool new features.
Also, who cares if it's the same every year? It still sells and it's still pretty god damn fun. I wrote a full article on my personal blog and I was just wondering if people feel the same? That the game looks awful visually but gameplay wise still really solid and it looks like they've added some really cool stuff. Let me know!
I loved Kick Ass 1 and having just seen Kick Ass 2, I love that one as well. And I can't help thinking what a great game could be made of them. I mean, we've seen so many terrible movie turned into games pass by but how many good ideas have seen pass by as well?
Everything is in place, gameplay is fighting crime and possibly building a character to be a better everyday superhero. Story is whatever it wants to be as it's a constant world, it doesn't have to follow the films, just the characters. It could be maybe allow you to pick between a good side and a bad side, the possibilities are endless.
If someone was to take this up they could have a great and robust video game, and even a franchise!
When picking up Far Cry 3 last Christmas, I was amazed at how brilliant it was having not played the previous 2. It had everything, a good story, great gameplay and that it looked pretty god damn amazing. However after a couple of weeks of playing I quickly came down with a bad case of gaming fatigue. Unfortunately I lost interest with the game because of some fairly repetitive gameplay stuff. Sounds daft I know, because if there's one thing that Far Cry offers, it's a bit of variety.
Luckily after months of not playing the game, I picked it back up last week. And I have loved playing every second of it. I have come to learn that Far Cry 3 may be a bit of a special one. It's not just a game, it's an experience. Without getting into any pretentious nonsense, I just want to say it's a game that gets me excited about everything about it. The wonderful environment and characters as well as the top notch player journey. I am interested in Jason Brody and Vaas ; what they have to say and do.
To say it better then I ever could, I made a video to explain this weird feeling I have. I mixed some Artic Monkeys in there just to make everything that bit more pleasant, enjoy! (The end is really quite good)
