Marvel Versus Capcom was good. But I always saw those two as the cool kids of their groups. Do you think Scorpion will automatically win against the Green Lantern because he's yellow?
I really thank you sir for putting this video and making me remember some good times.
As for MK vs DC, I don't think that they will do it right, I mean DC won't allow fatalities and by the videos we seen there is no blood, just another crossover fighter.
I thought the MK games were decent up until the 3D ones. Most people feel that way, but for me, the series just lost the "old-school" feel to it when it made the next-gen jump.
We all know the only reason the original Mortal Kombat's were good was the fatalities.
Nope. MK was good all the way up until they decided to go 3d (MK4). Hard to pull off combos when fighting your peers, a break from the typical 'boxed in' concept, and focus on the combination of attacks and special moves rather than the intricacies of normal combat movies seen in the SF series. From an arcade perspective, MK II is my favorite fighting game ever. Going 3d hasn't been as fun for me, though the RPG game in one of them was not bad at all and Shaolin Monks wasn't horrible.
I have never liked the various endings (fatality, babality, friendship, etc).
@loki
Yeah, I too liked the less complex control system of the older ones.
MK 1 & 2 it's really special because of this.
lol word

I'm going to assume that's sarcasm and roll with it. But less complex? Perhaps. More fun to play with a group of people at the arcade? Yes. I'm a big fan of SF2, but it gets freaking boring when you can't find anyone who can learn the intricacies of the game fast enough to be a challenge. The learning curve on SF games is much greater than that of MK, and that's why it is one of the reasons it's my favorite arcade fighter game of all time. I have no need to be an elitist at an arcade, I'd rather someone play me rather than just wait until I beat the game on single player yet again.
I guess I always look at fighting games from a competitive point of view. All my friends were really good at SF2 and we always played it tournament style for hours. We also played some MK too though, but it never got nearly as intense.
@loki
No sarcasm I was serious. I loved that I could do all the moves in the first game along with my cousins the first time playing it.
Mk has always been bad.
I've never really liked Mortal Kombat. It's a fun game, yeah, but it's just kinda.. I don't know, I haven't played one in forever. I just remember them being kind of off.
The 3D ones are bad. They had fatalities yes, but they still sucked.
Mortal Kombat has been, and will be the second rate fighting game amongst fighters for years to come.
Its like a shitty horror movie. Its not fun because of its quality, but because its so shitty its awesome.
Amazing.
