The new Team Fortress 2 maps headed to the PC soon will also be available on the console editions at no cost, according to Eurogamer.

The maps will come in the form of downloadable packs on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. No release date was given for the content, though the Badlands and Goldrush maps are due out on the PC next month, with a CTF version of Well already having seen release.

In an interview with the site, Valve marketing director Doug Lombardi also mentioned that the company's hit puzzle-action title Portal will not be a one-and-done release.

"There'll be more Portal, for sure," said Lombardi. "But the details of that, to be honest, we're still working out."

Awesome. I have been waiting for this news ever since they hinted at new maps for the consoles back in December. TF2 is possibly my favorite online FPS of all-time, but it has been starting to get a little stale for me lately. An infusion of new maps should be just what the doctor ordered.

It also sounds like there will be new stuff for Portal. While they didn't explicitly say in the article whether it was coming to the consoles or not, I think it's safe to assume that it will. Which is also awesome because I am due for another run-through of that game.

Just thought I would pass this along since I know there are a few console TF2 players like myself who might be interested.

D-D-D Double Post!

BTW, does TF2 run alot better than it used to on Xbox360? And do a decent amount of people play yet? I play the PC version regardless but I had pity for 360 players who couldn't find a decent server to play on their system.
FREE? This is hard to believe, although they did let Epic Games do it once for Gears of War I believe. Then the next time they made them charge 10 bucks. So if this true, I'd say it's a one shot deal. After that, expect those Portal maps too cost something.
Hate to break it to you, but ctf_well is the most lazy thing I have ever seen valve do and its horrible.

Come play the PC version for custom goodness.
The PC version is absolutely amazing. My favorite online multiplayer FPS.
GrayFox: Just to let you know, in case you haven't somehow realized, you've posted this same blog twice.
In light of this I still plan on buying the pc version.
Oh come on, CTF Well isn't supposed to be an entire new map, it's just a slight update with a new game mode. Think of it as a precursor to the actual update. There is no way that the map is "horrible."
Ahahaa sorry guys. Sorry for Aidsing the Cblogs, I'll close the other one.
And yeah if I had a decent pc I would definitely go for the PC version. But I don't so I go with the slightly gimped version.

And I haven't been on in a few weeks but I never have problems finding a match really. The search function is kind of broken right now, (a problem they hopefully will address next update) but if you search a few times you should get something.

Another drawback is there are a crapton of incapable players though which kinda sucks, but there are lots of good ones as well, just not as many as PC.

Also, almost nobody has the bandwidth to host a 16 player match, so you're stuck with 8 pretty much, which kinda sucks.

But in spite of all that I still love it, which to me really speaks volumes for how good of a game it is.
