Draglade, first impression
Gorgoncete | 6:01 AM on 12.17.2007 5 comments

Draglade, Draglade, Draglade. Beyond this weird and non-attracting name there is actually a weird and attracting game... at least in the first hours of game play.

What is so odd in this Draglade game?
Well, the game is a fighting/role playing mixture that seems cool as far as I played. This quirky combat system is based in two main things: the use of musical combos, in which you should press the attack buttons with certain rhythm. And the use of "bullets", which are pretty much like magic, in fact you can do fire balls, power boosts or healing spells with this "bullets". Of course you can also hit your opponent with the tipycal low and hard strikes... but who want to just hit yout opponent when you can kill it musically?

And the other important things?
The plot of Draglade is... mmm... how can I say this? Not very original. In fact you are the tipical pricky hair boy who wants to be the best ______ (insert job) and must fight against ________ (insert enemy name) to fulfill his sake. But, hey! Maybe it will improve... (don't think so). In the other hand, graphics and Sound are just OK. It is not a innovation in any field but looks and sounds cool.

And... that's all for the moment. I'll tell you more when I play more.

Do you know that guy?
Gorgoncete | 11:13 AM on 12.16.2007 5 comments

Or maybe this one?

Yeah, I'm sure you can recognize at least this last one. But could you tell the name of one of them? Well... I can. The first one is Gorgon, the young and mighty boy who pulled down a entire empire and then left with his best friend and his sister. And the second one is Kyuzo Kakihara, also know as Adell, a demi-fiend who beat Lucifer itself and create a demon world which he ruled on his own.

They, as many other unnamed video game characters, have as many names as players of the own game. And maybe is that what make them so special. I don't know what do you think about, but the characters I enjoyed the most are what I christen myself. I mean, Baldur's Gate hero, Diablo hero, SMT: Nocturne hero, Suikoden heroes... you give them a name and you play the whole game with them. It's a really good experience!

What about you, do you feel special empathy for these characters? Or maybe they are just another guys that even do not have names? If you have saved the Sword Coast and kicked Sarevok ass, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

Warhammer 40k: SC (NDS version), first impression
Gorgoncete | 10:35 AM on 12.14.2007 4 comments

Mmmmm... what we got here... a warhammer 40k game for my little, cute Nintendo DS... sounds great, isn't? Maybe yes, but maybe not.

First of all I've to say that I have only played six stages, but since the game only have 13 I can say I'm almost in the middle of the game. The important thing is that in these six stages I could see what is good and what is not. Turn based strategy, warhammer 40k universe, mechanic swords, ultramarines... and no much more, are the good things. On the other side we have graphics that are not as bad as I've read in other sites, very annoying and usual slowdowns and a useless stylus gameplay. So for me, at this moment, the game is average (being generous)... let's see what happen in a few more stages.

I expected a lot of this game. Maybe my letdown is because of that. Maybe not and the game is average at best (or "at beast average", I really don't know the order, excuse me for my english ladies).

Do you remember...
Gorgoncete | 2:27 PM on 12.13.2007 9 comments

Time commando

Yeah, that game released 11 years ago by the extinct Adeline. You know, the game in which you take the role of a futuristic scientist who gets trapped in the flow of time and visits many phases of history. Yeah! This exact game.

It was 10 years ago and I still can remember almost all the scenarios you visit in the game. The prehistory, roman empire, feudal Japan, medieval europe, conqueror's time, far west, modern war and the future... I'm sure I forgot one or two, but anyway, I remember a lot of the different weapons you could use in each time, I remember the excelents graphics for the date and of course, the final battle with that... "thing". What do all these memories mean? One thing, this game rocks and is for sure one of the games I most enjoyed in my life.

So if you have played Time Commando I invite you to remember it. And if you have never played it... well... I don't think is the kind of game everybody could enjoy now (because all the graphical matters I don't care at all) but if you have the chance to give it a try, don't doubt it.

Tit Bless the games that grow with me.

Luminous Arc, short review
Gorgoncete | 1:08 PM on 12.12.2007 7 comments

Easy strategy, light role playing, cute anime characters, god fightings, a bit of tits... As you can imagine is impossible to get a bad game with all these ingredients, and you imagine well, Luminous Arc is not a bad game. In fact, I would say it's even a good one!

Go, Theo, go, kill this cerberus!

But let's explain why the mixture of all those elements make a good a game:
The strategy and role playing mix it shows off is the old school formula we saw years ago on titles like Vandal Hearts or FF: Tactics. And is good this way!
The cute anime characters and his funny histories make the predictable plot a good scenario to see what happen with all of them and enjoy their situations.
And of course, the great battles and the witches tits do the rest.

Nice dress miss titties

The conclusion: Luminous Arc is a very enjoyable game that focus in the most important side of gaming: the fun.

You will like it:
- If you like SRPGs
- If you like big anime tits
- If you like turn based killing sprees

You will dislike it:
- If you are too hardcore to wait an enemy turn to attack
- If you don't like big anime tits
- If you like to scary people with a squirrel mask
- If you don't like killing the same five kind of enemies (with different colours) again and again

 about me

Hi little ones. My name is Andrés, I'm 21 and I've been playing computer games since I was 4. So probably I could kick your ass in a Wacky Wheels deathmatch.

The reason I decided to start this blog was that I have so much free time to waste, and I though that a excelent way of wasting time would be starting a blog of one the things a like the most... so here I am.

-Preferred games: RPGs (specially SRPG) and Adventures (classic style)
-Crap I don't like: MMORPG (they are like drugs and I don't like drugs) and most of the driving games
-Now playing: Phoenix Wright 3, Front Mission DS, Contra 4 (yes, I only have my DS here in Holland)
-Desiring so bad: SMT: Persona 3, The Nomad Soul, somethin else...
