I can't possibly be the only one sick of this happening again and again can I? You would be amazed how easy it is to create a flow chart for something you've seen occur every week for the last year.
Am I saying we need more banhammers?
No. Some of the regulars here I've seen have originally been hardcore trolls and the freedom to say pretty much anything except wild string of spam and gibberish is why I love Destructoid in the first place. The editors here actually have the balls to take some trolls and criticism. If I wanted a site where I can't say anything I want without it being checked, scanned, patted down beforehand I would go to any of the mainstream gaming cesspools but I've gotten used to not having by comment treated like it's going through airline security.
Am I saying that we need a better review system?
No. The one we've got here is good enough already and I see people who want no more scores without thinking about the casual reader who won't spend the time reading all of the review or more multiple editor review without thinking about how hard it is for two or more people to get their hands on a game, play it at the same time, finish at the same time and write all of that down when they could be doing separate reviews and get more reviews out their in the same amount of time. Notice the word "time" there because I'm suggesting that it's a little selfish to request Dtoid editors to spend their time doing exactly what we want. Perhaps to love this place to much to treat the people who run it like shit but oh well.
Am I saying that the a thousand trolls are better than one or two real readers?
In page view terms? YES! VERY MUCH SO! Each troll that visits Dtoid is paying the bills for more awesome articles, editorials and reviews which ironically brings more trolls.
In my personal opinion? No. They're annoying, spamming, aggressive dicks who only turn up when they feel like complaining about something but thanks to the above point they're here to stay.

I don't know really. I wanted to write a blog about this picture and then I thought "I must be the only one who feels like this" which of course means that on the internet there's at least a couple thousand other people who feel the same way. People who love Destructoid and want it to change but also love it too much to want it to change.
Think of Destructoid as a big bowl of ice cream:
You want to put on sprinkles because you think ice cream tastes better with sprinkles
You're also afraid that these particular sprinkles
might taste like shit
Do you risk ruining one of the best ice creams you're going get in your entire life or do you eat it wondering what it would have tasted like with sprinkles? I mean you can put the sprinkles on and then take them out if they taste that bad and you can only put only put sprinkles on part of the ice cream so you can eat around them but you're still gonna waste some ice cream.
Any of you guys know what to do with this ice cr- site or are you just as confused (and hungry) as I am?

I think people who whine about review scores need to man the fuck up. They should be using their energy to bitch about a nobler cause at least.
But I can give you what you want. I can make your heartbeat short. I can make you ice cream. We can be a sweet team, melting in your vice dreams, sport.
1. Decide prematurely whether the game is balls, or the second coming of flying spaghetti monster.
2. Go to www.metacritic.com and search for the game.
3. If flying spaghetti monster, click on first link. If balls, scroll to the end and click on the last link.
4. You should now be sitting and staring at a review you agree with.
5. Complement reviewer on such a well thought out and non biased review.

I also think Xzyliac is right, regulars will crush idiots by using common sense, even if trolls flood the site they will eventually leave and things will go back to normal and as someone pointed out sometimes some of the trolls will join the ranks as regular posters more or less adapting and shedding the troll persona.
But come on guys, who seriously reads reviews to find out if a game is worth playing? That's so passe.
Of course, as previously stated, a lot of these people only seem to come out of the woodwork for one review they've decided to take issue with.

That's the way of life around here but sometimes I think we're getting more and more trolls around here. I remember when the occasional Hoborg would pop-up but that was about it. Now there's at least twenty anti-Jim trolls who just follow his blogs just to shit on them.
But shooting them down is pretty damn entertaining.

Yeah I've noticed that. My problem stems from the fact that these trolls are brought here by Jim and low score reviews. I like Jim's articles and the fact that this site has the balls to say that a game doesn't get a 8 or higher for being an exclusive but I also dislike trolls.

I never really get pissed off reviews but I wish everyone who did would just use that logic. We would get so many less trolls that way.
