I bought Rez a couple of months ago at a gamestop for 20$
thanks for the flash time killer!
@ Def JM:
A few years ago it was online for about $70 on average... I need to get with these things
Flash time killer FTW
Maybe the price will drop after they are released on XBLA.
Holy shit... I picked up Ikaruga used at EB probably about 4 years ago used for like 10 bucks (Canadian, too).
I played it twice, and it's been on the shelf ever since.
"I played it twice, and it's been on the shelf ever since. "
That's the saddest thing I've heard all day, Ikaruga is a gem of a shooter and my Dreamcast version gets played frequently to this day. It was the game that broadened my girlfriends taste in games and got her into shooters and the Shikigami no Shiro series.
I can't wait for the Xbox Live Arcade version (along with Rez) so I can package my beloved Dreamcast version away and play it in sparkly HD without the fear of killing my original disc.
I have no doubt that it's a gem, it just never clicked with me.
I'm just not into shmups that much, but I thought I'd give it a try after hearing so many good things about it.
I've always gone the less-than-legal route to play Ikaruga on my Dreamcast, considering how damned expensive it is to buy a legal copy. I love it though and wouldn't hesitate to buy it on the Gamecube if it were to show up used at GameStop. I'll be buying it on the Live Arcade the second I can.
I also played Rez first through the "torrent and burn to a CD" method, but I had it on the PS2 once. I think they reprinted it or something, because I bought a new copy around the same time Kingdom Hearts II came out, and all my nearby video game stores had lots of copies.
So following that logic, when Kingdom Hearts III comes out there will be many copies of Ikaruga...
I want Ikaruga now!!! All I got is this demo to hold me over: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/336746
Very cool flash game.
$100? Fuck, glad I got a copy early on when it was cheap. I think I paid $12 for mine.
Makes me want to try and track down copies though to resell, unless being released on XBLA makes the value plummet.
