12 and Over Games to be tested for the Byron Factor in the UK

http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/ea-ratings-plan-will-cause-delays-to-uk-release-dates

Basically any game that is rated as a 12 and Over will have to be checked, where as before it was only if the game contained any nudity etc. This will apparently create even more delays of games for us puny Britons. Still i guess it gives Nintendo and Square Enix a reason for the scandalous delays. All this will be being done by the BBFC as well, as PEGI will now be concentrating on games for under 12's.

Hahahahahah! I laugh, because otherwise I cry :(

I don't think this will give Nintendo an excuse, they'll just take even longer because of localisation-localisation :|

Personally I think it's a GREAT idea!

I don't mind having to add to our already long waiting times if it means that our games will be needlessly scrutinized to please a bunch of out of touch, blame shifting politicians who know nothing about the medium they're rating.

The sooner they let people DECIDE FOR THEMSELVES what is appropriate for them (or their kids) to play, the better.

If a games content offended me, I just wouldn't buy it. Simple as that.
