Look at this face.

So cute. So innocent. Kirby has always been my favorite Nintendo character/franchise. Starting at the ripe age of 8 with Kirby Super Star, I've had a bit of an obsession with the character. Now here we are 20 years later, and I'm only now truly discovering the beast hidden beneath this adorable facade.

I have always accepted that Kirby games were easy (except for Mass Attack and Dream Course), but I've never believed that they were lesser games because of it. The enjoyment I got out of each title outweighed my desire for a challenge. But then I discovered Sakurai's original intent. You see, the reason why Kirby can fly is because Sakurai wanted to create a series anyone could play. If you reached a part of a level you found too difficult to play, you could simply fly over it. Once I heard about this, I got an idea. An awful idea. I got a wonderful, awful idea.

I am going to play through every game in the Kirby's Dream Collection without flying. At least, that was the idea. But as I started playing Kirby's Dream Land, I realized that this would technically be impossible. Why? Because there are some parts of the game that force you to fly. It was then that I decided "fly" would only be used as a super jump, and to add an extra layer of difficulty I would ignore any healing items.

So far, I've only tried this with Kirby's Dream Land, but I plan to play through the others soon enough. What follows is my 2-part, profanity-packed, rage-filled journey through the flightless world of Kirby's Dream Land. After playing this way, I will never again agree with someone who claims all Kirby games are "easy." And if you want to experience Kirby in a new way, I recommend trying this out for yourselves.

Bwahahaha I get a mention.

Here I thought it was an actual blog, not more blatant advertising for your terrible youtube channel. And self fapping to boot.
>he doesn't self fap
I'd like you to do some more of these videos. :D

(Not simply ones where you rage, otherwise you won't do them now, will you?)
dude fucking awesome
@Batthink
Good to know. I'm a bit of a glutton for punishment, though. I'd probably still play plenty of games that would make me rage.
I don't give a fuck if you don't like my replies, the people here write blogs, actual blogs with WRITTEN CONTENT, the only that doesn't for the most part is that logically guy but at least its text, you contribute jack shit to this place, I wouldn't care if you where a fixture here but you aren't, just pop in, HEY GUYZ CHECKZ MA YOUTUBE, LOL SO FANNY XD and then leave it again.
You're right, I don't contribute much to the cblogs anymore. Key word is ANYMORE. But I've stuck around for years because I have a place in my heart for this community and I like to share things I work on with them. I understand that my last blog was pretty shitty since there wasn't any content to go along with my "hey, check out this video I made," and that's why I decided with this one I would actually put effort in explaining what I did and why, and offering others to try it as well. I'm not trying to whore myself out here, and I never have.

And clearly you're the only one who actually has any problem with what I post, and I'm guessing you never bothered to look at anything I made to really judge for yourself whether it's actually any good. Other people either know or remember me, or just enjoy what I have to share with them.

I'm sorry that I'm not posting a blog every other day to talk about something. That's mostly because I don't have that much to say that I haven't already seen said by several other blogs or news posts. Either that, or what I have to say wouldn't be long enough to justify a blog. So I'll just continue to do what I've always done. Lurk in the shadows. A silent Dtoider. Who, when he has something to say, leaps from his hidden perch to proclaim it.

Don't like it? Deal with it.
Let me also add that I find it amusing that after nobody responded to what you said before, you felt the urge to pursue the issue anyway. Nobody cares.
Kirby games are pretty good about the variable difficulty thing. But that extra game...it's really something. I've only cleared it a couple times myself, and that's AFTER going to the option menu to beef up my lives.
@Keith
Yeah, I actually played a little bit of it but didn't put it in this recording. It's CRAZY. I figure I might do a full playthrough of it with the no-fly rule after I play through the other games. It's gonna be a bitch.
Good heavens, I do love me some metagames! Good luck with the challenge!
That was quite entertaining. Looking forward to the others.
