YEEEEEES I'M FUCKING DONE WITH FINALS. Seriously, I just submitted my FINAL final exam for the semester only moments ago (had to write 4 papers OMFG). And now it's time to party with some Tatsunoko vs Capcom streaming! I figured out all the streaming issues from last time, so now you can watch the video without all that choppiness (although the quality had to be sacrificed a bit to accomplish this, it's still better than stop-and-go video). Oh waitaminute. IT'S ANIWEDNESDAY guess I should tell you what we're watching tonight for that, eh? Well, I'm taking a break this week (and next.. no Aniwednesday next week, folks. I'll be away) from the old G Gundam and whatnot and we're going to be watching a Lupin the III marathon to help celebrate Lupin's 40th anniversary this year!

You're probably wondering why this is a "Green vs. Red" marathon. Well, for those of you who don't know, Lupin has, over the years, worn different colored jackets. Green, Red, and Pink. Each was worn in a different season (Green = S1, Red = S2, Pink = S3). Of course, the most popular one was the Red jacket, but the Green jacket is also a classic part of Lupin's history. To celebrate Lupin's 40th anniversary this year, there was a OVA released in Japan called "Green vs. Red" which, while being a major fanservice film for Lupin fans, also has a pretty interesting ending that can spur some serious discussion. ANYWAY, enough talking, here's the lineup tonight:

Lupin the III Red Jacket Season (DUBBED) Episodes 1-6

We're going to start off with the most popular series of Lupin III, the RED JACKET SERIES! I'm really sad the english dub stopped due to poor sales, because the dub for this show was great. We're gonna check out the first 6 episodes of this classic as a part of the Green vs. Red marathon!

Castle of Cagliostro (DUBBED)

Okay, while this doesn't have the best dub, IMO (couldn't get the subbed one, sowwie), it's still hailed by many as a fantastic Lupin film that happens to have our lovable thief in his classic green jacket. In this film, directed by Hayao Miyazaki (Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, etc.), we see Lupin and Jigen get involved with an endangered princess after discovering that the money from their latest heist was full of counterfeit bills.

Green vs. Red (SUBBED)

"When a Lupin impersonator is arrested for shoplifting in Tokyo, dozens of other copycats converge on the city to clear the name of Arsene Lupin III. The real Lupin is in town too, both to watch the show and to steal a mysterious item called the Ice Cube. But one of those impostors also has designs on the Cube, and he might just be good enough to beat the original at his own game." Just reading that copypasta alone got me intrigued by this, and I wasn't disappointed. Fantastic animation, an interesting (albeit confusing, mindfuck-ish at times) story that will definitely have people debating it's ending.
