When i first purchased a XBOX 360 i wondered to myself what the hell the "Achievement
Unlocked" pop up was all about. I was still used to the old fashion way of gaming, complete
a game up to the point of satisfaction and then move on. Up until the point of getting XBOX
Live i didn't pay any attention to this score. Games would pretty much give you the full
1000GP at the moment you purchased it (Fight Night Round 3?). As time progressed and
my Gamerscore rose into the thousands i begun to be more and more inclined towards
increasing my points. Knowing full well that they had no functional use other then bragging
rights.
I recently completed all the Call of Duty 4 achievements and i was over the moon. Being
one of the hardest challenges since completing Vegas 1 on Realistic. I had no intention of
getting all the achievements for COD4 but seeing as i love the game so much. I wanted to
get the most out of it as possible and wanted to kill some time before the new maps were
released.
There is certain games that i personally think are made better by achievements, GTAIV is
one of them. Although it has some MULTIPLAYER based achievements (which i don't tend to
get on with) i have enjoyed doing what is asked of you. Outrunning 4 Stars, Landing the
Stunt Jumps, Finding the Packages, Delivering the Cars, Killing the Police's Most Wanted and
the various others have probably added another 20+ hours to the game. Normally i
wouldn't be bothered with the Stunt Jumps and even less with the Pigeons but i enjoy
exploring GTAIV that doing said challenges is good fun. Even if my GTAIV disc is constantly
crashing!
Now i don't buy into the whole getting 1000/1000GP for every game because i personally
think that is a bit sad. I would never play a game just for this reason. I see a lot of sites
lately that consist of aiding you to get more points out of your games. I can imagine there
is a fair few people out there who will spend hours of there time just getting mediocre
achievements for the sake of it.
Microsoft have probably came up with a idea that will be implemented into consoles for
years to come. The chance to show how amazing or obsessed you are/with at games. I
know PS3 has some kind of Trophy Room and that sounds pretty cool as well.
So in saying all that i wondered what most people thought about achievements. Do they
spend too much time searching for the elusive points? or do they just feel content when
they get a surprise pop up on screen?
Maybe you could post your Gamercard if you have a massive score and want to show off
how big it is...

Personally i have never had the problem that too many friends mean i can't add more new
friends. Apparently this dude has and he has devised a overly complicated solution to the
problem. Almost a year old the chances of one of you stumbling across this is probably huge
but none the less.
Here's the link:

Maybe one day i will be popular enough to have such a intricate setup for managing friends.
Until that day i will just go to sleep every night praying that i will wake up with 50 friends
requests.. including the most important one of all. Ocified's friends request.. so i can turn it
down and call him a pillock.
Happy days

I don't want a "Kick" option no more, no i fucking don't. I want a "Infect with Cancer, Aids and
Hepatitis" button because if that was an option i would be the biggest mass murderer in the
world today. Is it impossible to play a Online Race without someone doing donuts in the
middle of the track? Is it impossible to play a Call of Duty Hardcore Team Deathmatch without
someone team killing you? Is it impossible to play a game of Pro Evo 2008 without someone
breaking your leg the second you get one on one with the goalkeeper? Yes, its fucking
impossible. Here's a statistic for you, every 1 decent person you meet online there is always
10 cunts, FACT!
Sometimes harsh words down a microphone just aren't enough, some people need to be
curbed and i mean soon.
Next person to ruin a game for me is getting tracked down, sliced opened and booted in the
head until there miserable skull is shattered.
I just want to have a game or two without the need for conflict. Its not as if the Submit
Feedback or Player Review options even have any effect.

Driving games aren't really my kind of thing. I mean, i am really good at them especially
PGR4, Dirt and FORZA but i get bored of them easily and the lack of any real excitement
usual bores me out.
However since i have been playing GRID i have had a whale of a time. The fact that you
can wreck your car with just one misjudged turn and the amount of cars behind you waiting
for you to fuck up, just makes the whole game that much more interesting. Frequently i
have been at the front of the race pack and lost control on a corner sending me and the car
behind me into a tire wall. The handling is something i didn't like to begin with, finding it a
bit easy to take corners at speed and not really needing the brake. This is largely down to
the fact that game makes you feel as if you are going a lot faster then you actually are.
Adding to the feeling of impending failure that more obvious, like a pressure cooker of
destruction. Since then i have begun to love the style the game-play and adjusted to the
pace of it all.
I think it could be one, if not the best racing for the XBox 360. Obviously you have Gran
Turismo for the PS3 coming out this year so that could well be taking the PS3's racing
crown. Personally i think Gran Turismo is shit, lacking heavily in the excitement i feel
playing GRID. The depth of GT with its tuning and customizing could just be the deciding
factor. For the 360 thought there is only one racing game i can say looks best and thats
GRID.
The release isn't too far off now (30th of May in the UK). So far i will defiantly be picking
this when its released.

Since i have been playing GTAIV my 360 has done nothing but Molest, Pillage and Rape my
game disc. Knowing full well that this isn't a new problem and plenty of people have had the
same issue with different games.
Now, my game has slowly been rendering worse and worse. To the point now that i am
seeing the blocky squares around certain trees and lamp posts. Therefore the console that i
bought for 300£ (back in the day) is ruining my possessions. Im sure there must be some
kind of law against damaging of products regardless if it is a games console. I never bought
a 360 in the knowledge that games that i have spent 40£ on would be destroyed almost to
the point of breaking.
Heres a fact that you may want to know:
I HAVEN'T MOVED MY CONSOLE WHILE ITS BEEN PLAYING A GAME! EVER!!
Assuming the worst, that eventually my game will be unplayable i am wondering what
routes i can take when this happens. I very much doubt the store i got the game from
would exchange the game for me for a new one and i don't know if Microsoft will hold there
hands up and say that they are to blame and replace the game. I am not willing to try
some cleaning equipment to fix it as the grooves its burning into my disc looks far to deep
to be cleaned off.
My finally resort will be to sue Microsoft for Criminal Damage and thats a extreme that i
would undertake but i am sure there is a more civil way to sort this situation.

All these States are full of Morons, Alaska and Hawaii are cool.
Jack Thompson has a very good point. The USA should do something to restrict access to
games of a certain age rating like the UK and for that matter most of the modern world. I
disagree with the statement that its a murder simulator and whatever else its been
described as. I do agree with the US being a bunch of fucking idiots who can't even protect
there own children from violence and choose to blame the source. Instead of putting laws in
place to prevent this.
I have a bleak view of the US as a whole due to my opinion that there mostly a bunch of
pricks who would rather shoot there way out a problem then debate it. Too many Guns, too
many Cretins and too many People to control with a definitive law. The USA is supposed to
be so high and above everyone else in the World thanks to there swollen ego's that they
could pretty much take over any country that would choose not to give them Oil or
whatever else that they need.
Basically, i reckon the US will end up imploding on itself in a massive ball of stupidity. Your
country was a lot better before we British gave you your independence. Doing that was like
giving a 17 year old, brain washed kid a gun and saying you will give him a boat load of
porn and money if he can blow off 100 peoples faces with a Uzi.
Your all fucked... and so is the rest of the World id assume living in your almighty shadow.
*Sorry to the people in the US who have a brain cell and a sense morality, i am sure there
is a few of you*

Metal Gear in my opinion has slowly got rubbish over the years its been going. Not only has
its story become more and more far fetched, the characters have became less inventive as
well. The first Metal Gear was amazing, the story was brilliant and the main characters all
had a deep, detailed back story. Even though it can be said that they were unbelievable in
terms of what they could physically do (like control peoples minds) but this made for some
great boss battles. The sequels from there slowly got lost on me.
MGS2: Sons of Liberty:
The game started off well with Snake and his usual antics being at the forefront. Alas
somewhere along the massive timeline of FMV's i got bored with it. Not just because of
Raiden being a huge tool but because of some of the originality had gone. Vamp was very similar to Grey Fox in terms of his acrobatics and speed. Grey Fox being one of my favorite
characters from the first game meant that the inclusion of Vamp kinda annoyed me. I
would have much preferred they just stuck Grey Fox back in and made up some reason for
him to be alive again. Ocelot was cool which made me excited he was back in the role of
huge prick. Why they ever decided to do the whole Liquids arm sometimes taking over
Ocelot i don't know. On his own he was a clever and charismatic character, where as Liquid
was a douche. Fair enough he is the "Evil" twin of Snake and made from the genes of Big
Boss but he wore a vest and that just isn't right. Plus Solidus Snake.. the ex-president,
what the fuck. I mean Okay he was cool to the point that anyone with Octopus like arms is
cool but the ex-president George Sears? Also with the eye patch, to much cheese there for
me. Along with this i didn't understand how Metal Gear RAY was such a piece of shit, it took
me ages killing a REX but i took out like 10 RAY's. Metal Gear ARSENAL was good though,
big ass fucking turtle sailing down the river like a true bad ass before slamming into
Manhattan, thats a WIN!
MGS3 Snake Eater:
Now at first i liked this game a lot but that soon turned to disappointment. Pretty much
every boss battle was stupid as hell. The Fear was about the only half decent one, amongst
an Astronaut, Man with Bee's in his chest, Sleepy Old Man with Moss on his face and some
dude with more Physic powers. CQC was a good edition but i hardly used it, as was camouflage and the way you had to eat to keep your gut from grassing you up to guards.
The healing part of the game was annoying and broke up the flow of the game. I mean, i
am all for realism but after being peppered with 30 rounds from a AK74 and then removing
one bullet from your shin didn't do anything for me. It felt more like a James Bond film to
me then a Metal Gear game. Too many fine ladies trying to get into bed with Snake. Not to
say that the game did nothing right, i liked the scene where Snake loses his eye and the
fact it wasn't the Snake we knew from MGS1&2 but in fact Big Boss. The battle with the
tank slash missile launcher wasn't great in terms of previous fights with mechanical beasts.
They should have just done REX again but made him look really old school.. with maybe a beret and young complexion.
So why should i be excited about the new one? Its got the 5 main characters from Beast
Wars in it and that twat Meryl Silverberg. Raiden has returned to rape my favorite ex-boss
Grey Fox and Ocelot hasn't aged one day since he appeared in MGS2.. he must be like 80
now surely. He was about 60 during the Big Shell incident. Oh and now there is robots
which make sounds like a Cow.
I dunno, i was happy in the days of chasing Ocelot round in a circle as he slowly tried to
reload his six shooter. Now i probably got to chase a robot wolf up the side of a building
with grav boots on.

That is the question.. the question that has been troubling my mind for at least a week now.
See here's the deal, i don't want to pay full price for GTA4 due to having two games that
are still full price that i want to be rid of. These games in question are Burnout Paradise
(which is a MASSIVE £49.99 in GAME) and Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 (which is shit yet still
selling). Im not a big fan of trading in stuff as i have a collecting fetish that makes me feel
instantly sick as soon as i trade something in i once owned. None the less i am going to get
rid of these two obsolete games for the greater good of GTA4.
Recently i got my Burnout Elite License and to be honest i hadn't exactly been under the
spell of Paradise City. There for this is on the list to get the hell out of my life.
As for Vegas 2, well i think its a cheap copy of Vegas and hasn't done anything remotely
significant enough to keep me interested.
Now here comes the issues.. per se. Thanks to my trust in the gaming industry and the
hideous prices they give you for pre-owned games i have doubts. Doubts that make me
think for some unknown reason GAME or the spanking new GameStation that has just
opened near me, will somehow give me a cold shoulder and say that GTA4 is all sold out
and make me take the dreadful option of cash instead of trade..
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!
The most horrible deal in the world!! I think its something like 20% less for cash trade-ins
then a trade in for a game. So for instance, a game you would trade in for a product would
be £20 BUT for cash its something like £16. Now theres a dilemma, do i wait a few
days/weeks for a re-stock and get GTA4 for practically nothing or take the dirty cash deal
and lose my dignity.
This may not be a big deal for most of you. Then again most of you are cretins and would
take any deal possible to get a game you wanted. So much in fact that you would probably
throw your new born in a wood chipper to express your huge anguish.
HA HA! Body in a Wood Chipper.

Im trying to finish the last section of the story mode and for some stupid fucking reason i
don't get a checkpoint when i pass through certain sections. Now i wouldn't normally give a
shit but since i am playing on Veteran which is stupidly hard i would like a little reward for
getting 100 headshots in a row. People harp on about how great the game is but why the hell
do i sometimes get a checkpoint and other times i don't? I played the whole game through on
Veteran and this particular section i skipped because it pissed me off so much. Ive been
through 2 XBOX pads and one trip to the hospital in the process of trying to do Act III: No
Fighting in the War Room.
I really don't understand how a game can give you a checkpoint on the same setting doing the
exact same thing and then when you come back to said section it refuses to give you one. I
battled my way all the way to the slow moving blast doors and without even getting a chance
to run in i got nailed by some bloke blind firing round a box...
GIVE ME MY DAMN CHECKPOINT YOU CUNT!!! IM SICK OF YOUR BULLSHIT!!!
Game of the Year, possibly... Bad for my shattered hand, Definitely!

People can talk about the Story, Graphics, Physic Engines and Characters but what i love
most about GTA is the Radio Stations. I think they add just that little bit extra depth and
realism to carrying out contracts in any of the three areas GTA has been set in. Obviously
the Radio Stations have been about since GTA the original and to be honest its about the
only thing that has been ever present in all the games released so far. You could argue that
the humor has stayed true but with GTA3's release on PS2 they moved from a jabbering
voice down a telephone line to true FMV, despite the main character didn't ever have
anything to say. As the games have evolved from cult classic to world renowned brilliance
they have added more popular and mainstream music to there Radio Stations.
For me GTA: Vice City had possibly the best soundtrack in a game ever. Nothing brought
the 80's to life as much as listening to Flock of Seagulls while driving a Infernus through the
neon lights of Vice City. San Andreas had a as good soundtrack, if not better but due to me
knowing most the songs thanks to being alive during the 90's i was more accustomed to it.
Now with GTA4 which as everyone knows is set in modern times hopefully it will set the
mood just as well as previous installments. I quick jump over to the new GTA4 site will give
you a taste of some of the new Stations. There is 18 that i can see and i can imagine that a
fair few will be talk stations and the rest music ones. Im not sure what to expect from
Rockstar with the new GTA in terms of music, i hope they steer a bit away from
mainstream music. For instance, if they put My Chemical Romance in there i will be a bit
shocked. For some reason the music has reminded me a lot of The Sopranos so far, with
the main intro song to the site being very similar to songs i have heard in said TV show.
Regardless i can bet that its going to be something special and i can't wait to be cruising
about in Liberty City listening to some amazingly well written radio chatter and atmospheric
tunes.
