That's neat. I've always hoped they would get to remaking Romancing SaGa 2 at some point, so I'll have to buy this so they know I'm still interested.
SaGa games kick ass-- even their (possibly retarded) cousin Unlimited Saga is pretty great. Then again, I realize I might be the only person on the planet who honestly believes that.

You're not alone, at least regarded the games that aren't Unlimited SaGa. I keep wanting to TRY Unlimited, but I always wuss out and get something else every time I see it for sale. One of these days.
I like this trend!!!
I hope they get up to the SNES ones. I've NOT played them using an emulator, and would really like to check them out in proper translation

Holy shit, I was just playing this game last month on my GBA until I got stuck fighting Apollo. Does want, does want very badly.
I like the artstyle they chose, but i'm a little disappointed they're making it in 3d. I'm interested to see how a character uses the "Tank" weapon though. I've always pictured the character leaping into the air and then a tank falls down with him/her in it which disappears at the end of the round.
Also, is that girl in the pink outfit suppose to be the female mutant!? ARGH, WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO MY MUTANTS, WHY DO THEY LOOK LIKE ELVES!? Where's the crown on the females, and the half scar head of the males?
I want, but I'm worried that square is going to continue its recent trend of "fucking up".

Wonder what the chances are of this one coming Stateside, considering the reception that the recent SaGas have gotten...
Oh, and this is completely unrelated, but I must give a thumbs up to your Yggdra header image.

Technically, the first Final Fantasy game I ever played was Final Fantasy Legend III so I would definitely say that this interests me.
Damn. I thought they were making a Saga Frontier 2 for DS. I would've watched out for that. Nevertheless, this SaGa 2 looks cool too. Maybe I'll try it out
at first I thought you were talking about Saga Frontier 2 until I saw the GB reference.
I will definately pick this up as me and my sis damn near fell in love with Saga Frontier 1...and I robbed it from her just so I can finish all the other stories that isn't Red.

SuperShawn: The game uses the SaGa series patented "No levels" system, where you gain stats directly via performing actions in battle. For instance, if you attack with STR-based weapons like Broadswords, you have a chance of gaining a point in STR at the end of combat. If you spend rounds defending with your shield, you have a chance of gaining a point in DEF. Rapiers and Guns tend to raise SPD, and Magic raises MAG. And then there's a bunch of crazy weapons that don't raise anything but are crazy powerful(Tank).
In the GB version of the game, you gained HP randomly, but they'll probably update that to "If you take damage" which is what the other SaGa games used.

Gen Eric Guy: Okay, so just like FF2 on the NES pretty much. I haven't seen that level up system in a long time and I actually enjoyed it in FF2 so I think I'll be defentaly picking this up.
DO WANT.
I loved the remake they did of Romancing SaGa on the PS2, and I do OWN a copy of Unlimited SaGa, but still haven't exactly figured out what's going on there. I remember spending a lot of time making up different parties of humans, mutants, and robots, and just wandering around and questing about.
Also, the battle music was catchy as hell.
