This one slipped under my radar, I'll definitely be recapping this in the Tribune.
Anyhow, while I also like a lot of what XSeed and Media Vision have sent our way, I'm a tad nervous about this one...I like the look, but the "virtual trak-ball" movement controls look iffy. I'll also need to learn more about what combat involves, as off the cuff it's reminiscent of Dragon Quest (which I'm not a big fan of). Will be looking for more info, thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Now that's an IP you never hear about today! I'm a huge fan of Oz, and even liked that weird new movie "Return to Oz".
I've put some time into the Japanese version, and this announcement has me really excited. This is one of my favorite DS RPGs, and that was without even being able to understand what was going on half the time! A truly beautiful game, and fun to boot.
@BulletMagnet:
The trackball-style controls worried me before I played it, too. Luckily they work pretty well. Still, I'm hoping they add traditional button controls for the US release, because I know a lot of people will find this too strange for them.

Cool news, but I'm a little worried that actually calling it "The Wizard of Oz" might not have been their best move. I mean, most of the US thinks of an old MGM movie as far as Oz is concerned, and it's not exactly the height of coolness.
"Beyond the Yellow Brick Road" could probably be a standalone title on its own, it's less of a mouthful too.
Either way, the game looks awesome, and it'll still sell somewhat by word of mouth, I just think it'll be hard to convert anyone who wasn't already interested in it.
