Nintendo finally responds to comlaints of Wii's lack of Internal Memory
Gen Eric Gui | 12:15 PM on 05.02.2008 9 comments

I can't substatiate this with a link, but the following is supposed to be an exceprt from the 07-08 Nintendo Financial Q&A with Satoru Iwata.

...Statistically speaking, it is true that there are a small number of customers who feel that the flash memory is too small, while many others find that they have plenty of memory. However, because this small number of people are none other than the most avid players, we know we have to review the best possible solution to eliminate their inconvenience...

It's vague, but it looks like Nintendo is finally looking into the complaints that the Wii storage space is too small. I still have yet to run out of space on my Wii, so the current memory size doesn't bother me in the slightest, but hopefully this will tide over some of the complainers for a little while.

Edit: Got a link. It's official.

I'll be honest, I have no idea what this is about because every other word is misspelled. Well done.

hopefully they realize the concerns are about potential for use rather than current use. I haven't run out of space, and wont, considering what I currently have going on (saves, VC games). But if you get into heavy DLC content, that starts to be a concern. goo to know they noticed the uproar.

Two words have letters transposed. Yes, this is a horrible, horrible mess of writing. I'm sure you've never made a typo in your entire life, and thus TOTALLY have the rights to complain about such GREVIOUS errors.

It's good that Nintendo's listening. Hopefully if they actually DO allow for hard drives or something, they'll let us run games and other stuff off the actual drives instead of having to copy everything back to the internal memory.

I think Nintendo just realized that all the people downloading games every week can't do it anymore, so instead of cleaning out the fridge, they just don't download any more games.
Mr. Iwata, you just won a Captain Obvious award.

THANK YOU. It's about damn time someone in Kyoto looked into this.

Awesome.
Now I won't have to worry about playing SDCard juggle with my internal memory.
