Apparently the long-rumored Halo movie is one step closer to getting made.
According to a scoop over at Latino Review, G.I. Joe screenwriter Stuart Beattie (and self-professed Halo fan) has written a spec script titled Halo: Fall of Reach, along with detailed outlines for the second and third movies in a potential trilogy.
According to the source, “For Halo fans, it’s like the prequel that provides all the answers to questions they’ve thought about for years. For non Halo fans, it’s an exciting action movie that provides a clear, concise introduction to a world five hundred years in the future with relatable characters and a terrifying alien menace.”
Count me in the latter category (I’m way more excited for Joust: The Movie), but there’s no denying a Halo trilogy would be a potential gold mine. Apparently though, Microsoft isn’t as keen as its fans on translating one of the company’s biggest sellers to the big screen. Still, what have they got to lose by checking out a spec from a big-name screenwriter? After all, it’s not like we’re talking the guy who wrote Doom here. read
