Alas its true.
Here's the story.
Today i opened up the box to my Halo Edition Xbox 360 that i bought 3 weeks ago.
It took me 3 weeks to do this because i work 6 nights a week and don't have a lot of time.
So i got the night off and thought that this would be a great time to get a few hours of gaming in.
Who knew i would be so wrong.
I connected everything up and made an offline gamertag. So far so good.
I connected to the internet and tried to go live, and while i can connect i can't use the name GENACON.
So i thought i would try the xbox.com site and have a go there.
Signed in to my live account, and tried using GENACON again.
I've tried genacon, Genacon, And anything with genacon in the name.
Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is here?
Because I'm all out of beer and need to sleep.
pick a different name...
it happened to dtoid's famous tipster, joe burling, a while back when his buck f1tches gamer tag was banned for offensive language, they even called and talked to a customer rep who agreed with them that that was unreasonable, but couldn't do jack shit about it.
you're crap out of luck, pick a different name and you'll be fine, enjoy dealing with the evil Microsoft empire.
look at the alternative, you could go play lair on the ps3?
not only that but the severe lack of games would make it perfect for your busy as fuck schedule.
I've dealt with the evil before when i bought an "Xbox 180", It was only ever used for about 100 hours in its life and it no longer reads disks.
@ king3vbo
I think live doesn't like the letters gena as everything else seems to work.
But yeah, very odd...
Well that explains why i love my name so much. :D
Well i'm now known as G3NACON, Because GEN4CON and GENAC0N(0 is a zero) don't work.
but it sucks =/ tehy let me get away with lockstocknaga tho
*shrugs*
