I've been gaming since the NES, and haven't missed much as far as games go between then and now.
Life has cut my gaming time back a bit, but I still find time for my 360 and my Wii. I still have a good many of my old systems (original NES still works like a dream) and about once a year will go on a two week nostalgia binge.
My all time favorite games are Chrono Trigger (sequel please?), FF III/VI(JP), anything Castlevania, Mario 64, Knights of the Old Repulbic, and Metal Gear Solid (PSX, not the GC remake).

Most everyone who has CoD4 knows about the ridiculous "Mile High Club" achievement, where you have to get through the airplane epilogue on veteran in less than a minute.
I spent the two days this week trying to get this insanely hard (for me) achievement. It took about 60 runs for me to get it. After I beat it I went on youtube to see how other folks have done it. This is where the shaming starts.
p3rvypri3st (who gets huge props for an awesome name... because I'm Catholic and it's funny) has a video up in which he blows through the level in 35.5 seconds. I think to myself, "Wow self. That put us to fucking shame. It took us almost the whole minute."
Then I check out this guy's other videos. Cries of "No Fucking Way" followed the viewing of this video, where he beats his previous best with 28.6 seconds:
It only gets more amazing from there. Just to prove that I had no clue how far people could take this, he does the following face meltingly awesome runs:
Using ONLY flashbangs and the knife:
Using ONLY FLASHBANGS (Are you fucking kidding me? I call shenanigans!):
And finally, using JUST the pistol with NO FLASHBANGS! (WHAAAAAAAT!?!?!?):
This has to have been one of the coolest displays of awesomeness I've seen in gaming. Knowing how hard it was to beat with all weapons and no self imposed limitations makes this all the more impressive to me. I shudder to think how many runs this guy had to make to get these vids. This was just too cool not to share.
I am with you on this. after trying this for what seemed like a couple hundred times I started checkin the youtube vids too. Not only was it a smack in the face to see him run through it in under 40 seconds. but then to see the pistol only vids and shotgun only vids really made it worse.
Whats interesting is how easy this guy makes it look. I know that he takes alot of shots and manages to live. Anyone who has tried this will tell you how QUICK you will die if you step into the open fire at any point.
I finally got it, I used some of the technique I learned from the vids but seeing him doing this, and pulling it off is two very different things.

I still can't get Mile High Club, last achievement too. I've watched the youtube vids, done my damndest but I can never make it past the second "room" upstairs just before the little "hallway".
It took me roughly 50 or so tries to beat that level on Veteran and that was AFTER watching similar videos to get some tips. The pistol actually works amazingly well on that level if you go for head shots all the time. It reloads quick and is highly reliable. How he did only flashbangs is beyond me, though. That's ridonkulous.

Solid post, man. I didn't even know that the MHC achievement existed when you posted that. The tips that helped me get through the bastard were to always restart the level, as it gives you an extra bit of time to get past the guy in the bathroom, and to try and pick up another weapon (I preferred the P90) in lieu of the seemingly useless MP5.
