Shopping in the VC Store is harder than getting drunk off listerine.

Seriously it is.

For whatever reason, Nintendo has approved of an online store that is consistently full of errors preventing your purchase. Why? I have no idea. I'm a technician, not marketing professional. Yet, I think I can grasp the concept, paradigm, or fundamental law underlying a digital transaction.

Just like in a real store, when I make a purchase I expect the cashier to ring me up, stuff the crap in a bag and then bug me about pre orders or membership cards to that particular store. In and out with customer satisfaction on my face, an actually blissful feeling yes? While I don't have the privilege of walking out of the store with a bag of crap in it by purchasing online, the rest should be just as easy no?

This is the 20th time I've tried to download Sin and Punishment as I type this.

I would be angry, but I just lost my shit over the incident of having my debit card charged twice for purchasing points for the purpose of buying Sin and Punishment.

Boycott and complain politely? Nah. I just find it odd that Nintendo keeps their Virtual Console store operating like this. In a real store, the cashier doesn't charge the total to your debit/credit card, begin to bag your product and then say, "Whoopsie, I fucked up! Lemme charge that again!" I think if any other retail outlet practiced this method of a transaction, things would probably be bad. No, in fact that would probably be considered fucked up. What they should probably do instead is have the cashier jump up and smack their noggin on a block a million times toward the end of a transaction. That would make me shop there again.

Oh cool- Mario just bounced a million times which brought me to another error screen. Neat. I suppose I have the time to try downloading again.

Nothing of this caliber has happened to me, but it is a lengthy and annoying experience making a purchase. Every time, you have enter your credit card information and go through a bunch of yes or no screens. Not complaining about the download times though.

I've never had a problem with it. What I do have a problem with is the classic controller for Sin And Punishment. I've heard nothing but good things about this game but I'll never be able to judge it properly for myself due to what is without a doubt the worst button setup I have ever encountered in a videogame. X and Y to move left and right? Are you fucking crazy Nintendo? How about retrofitting your games with more palatable control schemes or giving us proper vintage controllers for our VC games.

Yeah...what you have there is a local problem. Not once have I had a problem.

@comradetrotskii

Control Setup "3" is your friend.

I just went and checked if you change the control setup and indeed setup 3 is my good friend. In my eagerness to play a game I have waited about 7 years for I overlooked such things. I should really check these things out before I moan like a bitch. Thanks for the heads up Riser

However, I still do want a proper N64 shell. Heck I own more N64 games for my Wii than I do Wii games

Yeah, I played with setup 1 for a while and felt the same way you did. It's truly a game you have to get used to, but after a while, it's greatness shines through.

I've not bothered to buy a classic controler, is the setup still ok with a gamecube controller?

I had a problem similar to that once. Took me about five tries to download F-Zero. It happened at my mom's house where the wireless network isn't that strong. Coincidence? I think not!

Well I finally got Sin and Punishment to work. It could be a local issue on my end but my security is as open as a prom queen's legs on prom night and my other services-XBL,PSN- have never given me issues.I'm not really angry at Nintendo just tallying another inconvenience to my life.

As fucked up as it is, the default control scheme works for me. I will still check out #3 to see if it can enhance my pleasure.

i think it happens when the file is being downloaded too much

this has only happened to me when the MP3 preview channel came out and everybody was downloading it

You might wanna call them up, since I've never had any problems using the service. The one thing that's happened is that Mario Kart 64 had a few tracks that ran at double speed, but a redownload took care of it.
