Rant time.
I love BlazBlue, I love it to pieces, its one of my favorite all time fighting games next to Soul Calibur 4... its got nice hand drawn animation, incredible pacing. Some of the best line up of characters since any fighting game. I gotta say, it places up there...
But like all fighting games.. there is a huge downside to it:
Online Play and the people who play it.
In my life since the I started playing fighting games, any Japanese developer will make a incredible game.. then place one or two characters that'll ruin vs. mode any time you see them. Street Fighter has the Ryu/Ken/Sagat syndrome. Guilty Gear has Sol Badguy. Soul Calibur has Maxi. The characters that take absolutely no skill to play, yet everyone plays them because they are so noob friendly and easy to win with. BlazBlue is no exception with two characters in particular that, no matter how good I practice on a character in training, read up on strats, learn combos. I will always seem to lose to them. Even right now, I love playing Litchi, I love her combos, she's slow to start, but when she gets going she does good damage and her moves (Aside from All Green... which is purely defensive.) I enjoy pulling. BUT I have to switch to someone faster every time I see these two characters and even then its rare that I win.
The two characters I despise online are as following, hating them in this order:
Noel Vermillion
V-13
Noel takes absolutely no skill to play. You press D.. and do the same three combos over and over again until you get enough of a heat meter fill that next time you hit them.. you pull out the Gatling gun and blow em away. I have YET to see a Noel player that does normal combos. Yet to see one that is good. How they could make her a bit more balanced is giving her a freakin' bullet count like Bangs' Nail count.. it is just that annoying.
V-13 is another issue. Yes.. she's a boss. Yes.. she takes tons more damage than any other character. No. You can't reach her cause the player is spamming ground and anti-air attacks the entire time with the occasional distortion field, followed by Sword Portal attack and a throw. Again, no skill to play her.. just spam D and you'll win. But.. she IS a boss character, and like Blue Boy from Street Fighter, she can be abused unless you have another cheap character to counter her.
Now.. I did not add Taokaka to this list nor Hakuman.. both are very fast, very strong characters.. with Tao, she's all about the air combo, and most of the time when someone Spams D, you can counter it pretty easily cause she flies right at you. Haku relies a lot on counters.... which can be easily dealt with as well. Both characters 'I' personally think are pretty balanced enough to deal with. I guess any fighting game we'll have to deal with cheap characters being put into play, and I know GREAT players will destroy them. But I'm not a great player. I don't have enough time in the day to master it.. I have enough time to have fun.. and anyone playing these characters without some sort of SKILL makes it less fun.

I think you meant to say "Ky" when you were talking about Guilty Gear. Or, as of Accent Core, Potemkin.
Also, Noel is fine. The D spammers are jokes. 13, however, is an annoying pain in the ass. Thing is, when people spam with her, they get into a pattern real quick with it and you can find an easy gap, run at them, jump over that low blade swipe that will ALWAYS come, and then own her in one combo. Bitch can't take damage.

I know, I guess I'm not good at the game yet.. but Noel always seems to kick my ass. >_< -
I never had a issue with Potemkin in Accent Core.. being a Axl Player. Ky was the same way... Sol however... destroyed me. I guess its just a opinion of mine.

So far, though, I haven't played anyone only who uses V-13. Every other character seems fine except that one time Tao got me to a corner and quartercircle-A'ed me until I managed to jump over her... and down D'ed right back at her.

High five bro. Your right then, Potemkin is your bitch. :P

@Tewdee -- 100% agree with you on Ky. Although I do see a hell of a lot of Sol go around.

Noel is hard to figure out, but once you get her basic D combo; you'll be good to go.

Maybe instead of whining like a bitch you should be in training mode, y'know, actually getting good at the game?
Waaaahhh x character is for teh noobz and are cheap. Anyone in BlazBlue can beat anyone. It's no one else's fault but your own that imstead if figuring out ways to adapt to and defeat characters, you just whine and call them cheap to so
ehow make yourself feel better about repeatedly getti
g your ass handed to you by them.

There's too many gamers now that are just like this. Not just fighting games but with all games. There's no way in hell you could have possibly been beaten fairly, huh? The guy has to be a n00bz or cheap or a button masher or there was lag or your giant ass boil was distracting you.
Yeah thy must be it. Because theres no way in hell anyone was ever beaten fairly at any videogame in the last 3 years.

And yeah, Noel's D combos are hilariously telegraphed and simple to block. And especially if you KNOW they're just going to spam them, you should be blocking like a motherfucker and punishing that shit every time they try it.
Oh, and "Blue Boy" Seth from SF4 is one of the worst characters in the game. He has no damage output and even less health than Akuma. His moveset is shitty as well(Although not as shitty as Vega!)

As for your Noel & V-13 complaints. Get to training mode brother. They both can be had easily when you learn your role with your character of choice.

Could you fail anymore at trolling, at least read the post more before saying, "Man up and train."
That's what I've been doing since the games release, WHEN I GET THE TIME TO PLAY.. and its gotten me jack. Different people have different problems with the games. I'm sure you SUCK at some game, no matter how good you try to get at it. That is how it seems to be with this game when I play it. I've studied, tested, trained, and I still lose to the same character. :P
(# 24) on 07/04/2009 17:49
Yeah I know, I've been in training mode a lot lately, not very happy with any sort of progress.... Litchi, from the strategies I've read so far is heavy corner game when it comes to combos. Even the strategies mentioned on the collectors edition disk shows this. You peg em with your rod and back em into a corner, then you go nuts.
It's incredibly hard to do that against Noel imo, due to her ability to get out of a large amount of corner traps with her Down+D. So, most of the time I have to pick Tao to do any sort of reasonable combo to her.

Are there player matches? like unranked stuff?
