Yes, I am doing it wrong. Yesterday my shitty
blog got 91 fucking comments. Usually you have to have breasts to get that many comments. While I got 91 comments, most deserving blogs got less than 20, as they usually do. No wonder so many trolls are around, look at all the exposure they get. Destructoid, when you learn to quit feeding the trolls, they will go away. Until then, stop wondering why there are so many of them. I am indeed one of you, and this will be the last post Furrbert makes. I just wanted to make a point, and I hope most of you get that point.
Forever yiffing,
Furrbert.
Also, BahamutZero can sniff things out:

well, regardless of who it is, it is a very unfunny and not very imaginative troll who gets a F-- for his work, but unfortunately, all of our attention, so he has succeeded in failure. Hope you die in a horrible fire furrbert,
love, bahamutzero
Interesting approach, sir. I can see your point, all the same.
We try.. as a community, a collective, to either keep the assholes off the site or try and tame them into something better, like..you know.. part of the community.
Then sometimes horrible things go wrong, like making enemies. Then they become a permanent staple of the bridge that helps the assholes cross into our community.
Now with all the new people coming, some getting it, most just not completely, I fear they may out weigh the people with the right morals who have been coming to this site for over a year.
And that's just not right.
We flame you for a reason, to keep trolls out of this site. And when one continues to do so, we continue harder to let them know HEY, YOU SUCK! GET BETTER OR GTFO and well.. it's not working anymore.
Niero must hurry with the Beta V 0.3
And that's just not right."
I totally agree Snaileb. Its sad when someone like Wiisucks can be annoying as hell, make shit posts, and rise up in the rankings higher than me... and Ive been here for longer than most people.
Beta 0.3 will be win
No offense, but trolls aren't exactly a Dtoid innovation. Moreover, most of the posts on Furrbert's site weren't posts that would feed the ego of a real troll because they ignored the original poster.
We've already got enough people mucking about with joke accounts to make this Saturday afternoon netiquette lesson worth the price.
Maybe it was there all along and haven't realized it until recently, but Wiisucks and Whiteboy are great examples of can make a fun online community one giant /facepalm.
Ten destructoids to Brandon.
"You suck" and "GTFO" don't really accomplish anything. For Destructoid to grow, both commercially and socially, we need new members no two ways about it. This site can be intimidating to newcomers as it is due to a firmly established cadre of senior members. When you add in that these senior members tend to direct immense amounts of hate and ridicule towards new members that make a mistake, it's a severely unwelcoming atmosphere at times.
I love all you guys. But stop being douches every once in a while and try to guide new members, rather than beat them into submission. If you do, we'll build this community up even more and make it greater than it already is, despite that not actually being possible.
And for the record, Furrbert isn't real. He said in the above blog that he's one of us, and was teaching us a lesson. Try reading before commenting.
It's Saturday? That makes my Tuesday post irrelevant already.
Who the fuck is Whiteboy?
People like him can come around if we don't make him feel like he needs to project a hotshot attitude and he can just be himself.
I really have nothing else to say on the matter though. People could technically hunt you down if they're crazy enough.
And I cant say Im all high and mighty, Ive been known to flame someone who makes a fail post...
..and I hope WiiSucks wasn't agreeing with the hunting people down part.
WiiSucks has gotten alot better too, and he knows he shouldnt and doesnt post random jibberish (sometimes) to piss us off.. so if he can catch a clue, anyone can do it.
20 were in response to either your fail article or making fun of you.
72 were regulars bullshitting with each other, posting pics or being nonsensical.
So, ummm...attempt to make point = failed? But I suppose the point is proven is we ignore the hundreds of other times comment sections have become DToid chat sessions.
Your approach is different. You relish the role of spoiler, and also like breaking character every so often to speak genuinely. This contributes (intentionally) to the uncertainty surrounding you. But if you're not honest with others, they perceive you an outsider messing with them and likely laughing at them. Nobody likes to be part of someone else's joke.
I suspected at first that you were not a group effort but an alternate personality for someone here with a familiar account. However, your prolificness makes me doubt it. I also think your misspellings and grammatical mutilations are deliberate. People with genuinely poor language skills make consistent mistakes. Yours are inconsistent, which could lend support for a multi-user persona theory. But usually multiple users have more fun supporting a comic character or caricature (Gaybear22) rather than a trickster/spoiler character.
So, basically, I don't know who you are except that on Dtoid you're not yourself.
Why my comment no post? Can a commment be too long and just lie to you when it says it posted?
I have to admit that I think the cliques that have formed within the c-blogs aren't really necessary as it defeats the purpose of being a community. How are new members expected to feel welcome if, and I'm guilty of this a couple times, three minutes after posting a blog, they're stomped to death on the lawn to cries of "FAIL!"? Granted, this usually happens when someone makes a "big news post" that's already been seen in the blogs about five times that day. Like MechaMonkey pointed out, it doesn't help matters any.
Who knows... Maybe even a simple solution like making the c-blog window bigger, or eliminating the window altogether, or doing something to emphasize the fact that there is a chance that people have already posted something that someone was thinking about doing a write-up on. Of course, this shouldn't prevent them from giving their opinions on the matters, but they have to be rational and determine whether or not it's necessary to create a whole post and flood the community, or just make a comment on the original post that will inspire (non-threatening) discussion and an exchange of viewpoints, instead of flamewars.
@ZeroTolo: I do the same thing, but have finally been switching to mentioning the hide button.
@Everyone: No, seriously, who the fuck is whiteboy? Does he come play later in teh day and I miss his stuff or what?
Whiteboy is like the after school special. Except REALLY special.
Everyone else : COONSKIN's approach, I think was really the best. It's what he did, it's what many of us did.
A: Troll your way to the top. (Fastest results)
B: Be respectfull and hope people will notice you. (Takes years)
Dan: I'll get to you soon.
Whiteboy:HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH!!!1! You post on your own blog more than wiisucks doesn't exist. And that's alot.
If there were a recent forum activity sidebar on the main page, like the cblogs, they would get more activity.
People use random cblog posts like this as forums because feedback is so much more rapid.
This was a breath of fresh air for me. And I do my damndest to contribute. Granted I go off kilter once in a while (see scarab balls yesterday) but for the most part I'm a productive member of this group.
Don't ask me how I did it. You could say I contributed and behaved and didn't try to impress.
Or be a dick
Or an asshole
Or any of the trolls I won't mention cause if you say it they show up.
(Tip : It's sarcasm)
Honestly, how much common sense can you not have when you have to take instructions to be a part of a community or watch an instructional community video to get it?
Internets... I miss how the editors would voice their opinion in community rants. I think they can't do that now because of something called reputation or it'll get you fired quick.. or something stupid like that.
;)
Take it upon yourself to help teach each other how to blog correctly. Teach them what belongs in a forum. Leave the flaming to the true trolls, so we can really detirmine who doesn't belong here.
Fuck yea! Its about time someone said it. Good Job! You have now earned the right to be put on a EXTREME TROLL's friend list.
Rule number 1: Don't troll as one.
o well it was bound to happen someday
