Gabranth for Dissidia. Do want Basch/Balthier. Vaan = Fail.

I'm not sure if this has been posted already, but:

The only things I liked about XII were Gabranth, Basch, Balthier, Fran and some of the locations. I thought everything else (battle system, story, that stupid license board system in which you ended up with 6 of the same characters with not a single unique thing about them, Vaan) was total bullshit. Now if they put Vaan in as the Dissidia Hero representative, shit WILL hit the fan. Not only was he the most boring character in the game, but he was even whinier than X's Tidus, and that takes some balls.

Luckily, if shit does hit the fan and Vaan is included, he'll be balanced out somewhat by the overbearing awesomeness of Gabranth (or Noah, if you'd rather).

Damn. Just found out that it's highly likely that Shantotto (from XI, included in first pic) above WILL be Gabranth's counterpart.

Basch definitely should be the counterpart. It's bullshit if they only have one XII representative.

Definitely. Basch was (without a shadow of a doubt) the real protagonist of XII.

Could they possibly have DLC for Dissidia? I haven't read too much into DLC for PSP games, but it doesn't seem like it'd be too much work.

I LOVED FF12 but yeah, Basch > Vaan.

Well there isn't a single (main series) FF protagonist who DOESN'T use a sword. Unless you count Terra, whose primary weapon could be said to be Magic.

I agree completely with your thoughts on 12. The license board was so pointless that you could easily get the whole thing filled up by everyone after level 50, and then you're stuck with the exact same characters that just fill out different roles in the party based on who you wanted to do what. The story was the narratively unironic version of Final Fantasy 6, and most of the characters didn't have any likability to them, and all were too flat for an RPG. But Basch was the best, followed by Balthier and Fran, and I have a personal liking for Doctor Cidolphus, besides the badass Noah. So, yeah, my point is, I agree that Basch should be the good guy rep in Dissidia.
