So, a few weeks have passed, and it’s now time for another edition of A Compulsive Collector’s Haul! I’ve discovered I really, really, REALLY need to force myself to do this bi-weekly, and not like monthly and such, as it gets to be a REAL pain in the ass to remember what I’ve cataloged and taken pictures of and such. This time I have a boatload of pretty awesome games I’ve been hunting for, for a while, as well as some AWESOME ATLUS games, and some super awesome stuff from JoeCamNet!
As regular readers of this series know, my frequent gaming gem store of Cash Converters has Diamond Dave working at it! He has once again pulled through for me, by finding and holding onto some stuff I’ve been looking for. Legend of the Mystical Ninja and Dark Cloud are replacements for my cartridge only and Greatest Hits versions. You’ve also got Joust (made by HAL apparently), Castlevania: Curse of Darkness, Mario Strikers Charged, Chibi-Robo!, and Super Mario Strikers. The black SNES cartridge is a super cool SNES cleaner and has like these things that get rid of dust and other dirt. The bottom row has Blasto, Rayman 2: The Great Escape, Crazy Taxi, and Dementium: The Ward.
Here we have PaRappa the Rapper and Suikoden IV from Goozex, while the rest are from places like Best Buy, EB Games, The Source, etc. Starting at the top, Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack, Patapon, Space Channel 5 Special Edition, Ar tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica, Bomberman Land, Moon, Exit DS, Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword, and Elebits: The Adventures of Kai & Zero.
Can I get a little love from fellow Atlus fans? =D SkyGunner has got to be one of the biggest unsung gems on the PS2. God that game is SOOO freaking fun! And the replay value is through the roof! You also can’t beat getting a sealed copy of Samurai Western! Then there’s Baroque of which I got from JoeCamNet via Goozex, which is funny since he’s the one who introduced me to Goozex! Finally, I saw this just completely randomly and out of the blue at Cash Converters . . . Pro Fishing Challenge! It was a sign that someone out there really does want me to COLLECT EVERY ATLUS GAME out there! ^_^
So when I opened Baroque to check if everything was there and such, I was greeted with a folded up piece of paper. Since it came from fellow Dtoider, JoeCamNet, I figured he might have sent a note with it or something . . .
Low and behold, when I unfolded the paper, there was NOTHING on it! So, I decided to try to take a closer look at it, because who would just randomly fold a piece of paper and leave it in a game?
Using my detective skills, I used pencil lead and if you look closely, lemon juice to see if there was some sort of hidden message on this piece of paper! Both attempts as you can see, came up negative. I just want to say . . . JOECAMNET . . . I promise you, I WILL find out what mysterious message or such you have hidden for me on this piece of paper if it’s the last thing I do!
Now where was I? Oh yeah, more stuff I’ve gotten in the past few weeks! This is my swag/promo stuff for the past little while. We’ve got The Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of Moria Bonus Pre-Order Soundtrack & Pre-Order Key, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction Demo Disc, Rune Factory 2: A Fantasy Harvest Moon Squirrel Plush, Pure Hat, Armacham Technologies Field Guide of Genevieve Aristide (from F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin), Guitar Hero World Tour Stickers, Harvest Moon DS and Puzzle de Harvest Moon Magnets, Pokémon Platinum Giratina Origin Forme Figure, 2 Street Fighter IV Ryu Headbands, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon Limited Edition Art Cel, Soul Calibur II Limited Edition Art Cel (I have been looking for this thing for like FIVE years!), and finally an Afro Samurai Limited Edition Figure.
Here are some random odds and ends I also picked up. An X-Blades T-Shirt, the Disgaea Compilation Guide, a Nintendo DS Rumble Pack, Ar tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica RQ (Rosenqueen [Limited Edition of 2000]) Exclusive Soundtrack, as well as Rune Factory 2: A Fantasy Harvest Moon, Shenmue (GODDAMN FREAKING SHENMUE), and Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen guides.
Here are some more odds and ends with 2 things of particular interest! Note the IN BOX Neo Geo Pocket, which can now accompany my Neo Geo Pocket Color, and the Dragon Quest Metal Slime Controller! I now own BOTH Dragon Quest Slime Controllers, and am pretty freaking happy about it! The best thing about these two things? Only $20 each! ^_^ Note the Killzone 2 Exclusive Demo, the Dreamcast GameShark, and the Pelican Dreamcast Light Gun.
Finally, JoeCamNet sent me some goodies with Baroque, as he knows I absolutely love swag and such. We’ve got some Red Alert 3 Trading Cards, a Viva Piñata Download Code, Xbox 360 and Zune Pens, Battlefield: Bad Company Keychain, a couple of Amp’d Mobile Wristbands, a Xbox 360 Patch, a Zune Frisbee (-_-‘), some Robopocalypse stickers, and some Mushroom Men Trading Cards. That does it again for another edition of A Compulsive Collector’s Haul! It’s damn hard work being a collector . . . -_-‘ . . . but totally worth it in the end! Hahaha! I’ve already got some stuff for my next blog, and let’s just say if you like PS RPGs . . . don’t miss my next installment. Until then, latez! P.S. GrumpyTurtle! If you read this blog, I sent you a private message through the site to discuss our Ruffles All Dressed chips for some USA only food/drink! Since you haven’t responded, respond in this blog and we shall discuss!

But you have Chibi Rooooooooboooooo! That game is so good.
Mystical Ninja, Dark Cloud, Blasto (I played it a lot), Parappa.
Other than that, nice collection, I'm envious!
If it ain't Baroque, don't fix it! Couldn't resist.
@ Nintendoll
Now I feel bad, since one of my eBay friends offered said lunch tin and VHS tape (unless it's something else and I'm going out of my mind) for like $15 3 or so months ago! -_-'
@ B-Radicate
I don't have enough hours, with school, and work, and going out and such. >_< I still game a lot, but I think I've evolved more from gaming to collecting.
(btw, sent you a private in response, lets get this ball a'rolling)
i've gotten a bunch of stuff to, just haven't had time to update things lol. i think the next time I "update" i'll just do a whole collection blog again since everything has changed so much.
I've only ever seen the blue slime controller in person, congrats on the metal one ;)
by the way nocturne reprint doesn't come with the soundtrack, only the first print, also the first print has the playstation security seal on the top edge of the case.
