@fusoya... maybe it's my age, but I find the term "nigga" offensive. The rap music playing, the words used in the video... it all just seems like a parody of video gamers and seems to illustrate every stereotypical idiocy associated with gamers. The whole thing almost seems like a bad joke.

It's this type of thing that gives gamers a bad name. I guess it's interesting to see that assholes like this actually do exist and aren't a figment of Jack Thompson's imagination... but it's distasteful I guess to see this reality. I'm just emminently thankful that you are in the vast minority of gamers and that most of us just "play the game" and don't need to live out the assinine stereotype.

My opinion anyway. Not that you want to hear it, but that's what you get for posting on a public blogging site.

First things first, I'm not the one being the "nigga" in that video. Quite frankly, I have no idea who it was. I just found his antics ridiculous and funny, so I put up fraps.

Secondly, I honestly think you're taking this too personally. And don't tell me that it's "subjective" and that just because this stuff is trivial to me doesn't mean it's not a big deal or is a real hinderance to some "gaming community." I hate to break it to you, but in real life, none of this matters, and online communities mean jack. It's not "my opinion," it's a fact of life. You're giving too much importance to trivial shit.

Oh wow, getting spammed by pornographic images and empty threats for maybe about 5 minutes, and having some guy scream at you for about less than 1 minute (even if you're slow to mute). Is that really such a big deal?

You want these guys to shut the fuck up? You want trolls to leave you alone? Then don't respond to them, and move on with your life. It's not hard to mute, and it's not hard to block. If worse comes to worse, it's not hard to play another game or even just find another server. Hell, you don't even have to do that. I come across griefers on Xbox Live when I play seriously, and honestly, I rarely leave. If they send me a message, I don't respond, if they talk to me and keep trying to troll me, I ignore them and keep doing my own thing. Because of this lack of response, they leave in about 2 minutes and I never see them again.

This is exactly the point I was making above: what makes trolling funny is that people take games (and other things) way too seriously, and are too easily annoyed by the antics of others. It's also ironic because people are so proud and naive that they feel the need to "defend their honor" online. Screaming "shut the fuck up" to a troll will just make things worse for you, whereas the opposite (being, shutting yourself up), is what gets them away.

It's not even just with online games. Look at all the attention I've gotten on my blog. Despite the fact that I'm openly trolling, people still think it's wise to fire more insults and arguments, as if they don't know that I could give a fuck less and am greatly amused by it all.

Let's say no one replied to my first post. People still didn't find it amusing, but rather than trying to look cool by firing sarcastic comments, they just did what any normal human being should've done: closed the video once they get annoyed, and went on with their business. Do you honestly think I would be here right now fucking with all of you?

When you are on the internet in any capacity, without your society filter on in your brain, how you act, I think, is what you really are. Maybe I'm wrong and people are just "acting" that way, but I disagree, when you know there won't be any consequences for your words your true self emerges. And for some people that is truly scary.

Are my blogs shit? Yes, but you don't really have to click on them, and they're only taking up 2 spaces out of about 25 right now. The most they've ever done was 3/25. Seriously, that's not even a dent.

Well for one, I never said "you guys have no lives," I just said that this "video game community/internet" shit is trivial, so I'm taking that as a sign of insecurity.
