The Beginning: FABLE
Freefall | 5:33 AM on 10.10.2008 8 comments

Hello there, this is my first blog so bear with me.

FABLE 2 is just around the corner, a few weeks away and I for one can't wait.
Rewind back a few years, an amazing RPG called FABLE was released for the Xbox. This was back in a time where the internet was still a mysterious place for me, I didn't know or think about Gaming sites, I just played games.

I was still new to the console way of life, and a certain Xbox magazine started promoting this 'FABLE' game.
I have to say that it looked great, I wouldn't know that it would be filled with unfulfilled promises, I just thought it looked cool. It would be my first dive into the world of 3D RPG's.

What grabbed me about FABLE was its amazingly Unique art style and simple controls.
For me it wasn't just a brand new game, it was another world. Many, Many hours were spent in this world, the good/Evil morality choices, the customization, the character morphing, simply put, it blew my mind.

Fable was a story, it grabbed me at the beginning and wrapped everything up at the end, it was a complete story, this is what games should be, an individual story without sequels in mind.

It not only makes the Original game a complete piece of art. it leaves more room and ideas for a sequel. Also, Guns+Magic= Awesome.

FABLE is great, hey it's brilliant in my eyes, but it could have been so much more.
FABLE 2 will be fantastic, but there will always be room for improvement, and that is what keeps the games industry going.

I would like to conclude this blog by saying that games aren't the next coming of Raptor Jesus, they never will be, but that's what the Hype train will have you believe.
Go in expecting a good game, a work of art even.

I know there will be disappointments, but if there are, you simply have to outweigh the bad with the good, and that's what decides if the game is worth it.

So I ask you a question, will the wait be worth it? Are you expecting too much? Do you not give a Sh*t? Or are you a gamer who will enjoy this game?

Thankyou for your time

Oh I plan on enjoying the hell out of Fable 2. It's the reason I bought an Xbox 360 in the first place.

When I played Fable I knew nothing about it. I think that's part of why I loved it so much and had such an amazing time with it. Fable 2, I know some things about it... but I'm just expecting a follow up to the best RPG I've ever loved. I am really excited for it but I understand there might be broken promises... I don't care... Fable 2 will be great no matter what... The same way Fable was.

I too went in to the first Fable with blinders on to all the hype and what this game was/wasn't supposed to be. Enjoyed it, even played through it twice to get the feel of both good and bad. Things seemed a little quirky at first but overall it was a lot of fun.

I'm sure I'll get to 2 eventually but there are just too many other great games coming out shortly for me to care all that much.

I liked Fable on the whole and thought it started really well, but it ended up turning into just a bunch of sidequests. From what I'm reading, Fable II looks to be about the same. I'll probably get it eventually, but fallout 3 is my next pick.

great blog, Fable was flawed but still lovable, and in a few short hours I imagine I'll be saying the same about it's sequel!

You've seen me before?

Who Am I?
I once went to the cinema and watched a 3D movie. As I was walking out, a guy with his 3D glasses still on yelled, "Woah, everything is 3D!" I was one of the 10 people that put their glasses back on to check.

I was looking at my to-do list on my laptop. Near the bottom of the list, already crossed out, was written "time travel" I have no recollection of writing that.

Once, there were only two brownies left. I decided I should eat them both so that they wouldn't be lonely. I am completely satisfied with my decision.

That's who I am.
