Frank struggles with an ancient piece of computer software.

Written & directed by Frank Howley
Starring Frank Howley and Matthew Bruce
Featuring Robert K. Smith and Valerie Smissen
Visual effects by Robert K. Smith

After the success of The Blair Wii U Project, Nintendo invited me to make a new commercial for them. We had to make this in 48 hours and incorporate a specific game feature from Super Mario Bros U. Made with a team of other winners Ethan Newberry, Zack Finfrock, and Josh Jepson, I wrote, acted, and co-edited it. This screened last Thursday night at Nintendo’s Sundance party, which they flew me out for.

There’s also a behind-the-scenes feature about the 48 hour film challenge, as well as the two other videos, all on Nintendo’s official YouTube channel.

A documentary crew follows Frank, a 20-year old Asian-obsessed otaku, as he interacts with Asian Americans.

Ot-a-ku (n.) - an avid collector or enthusiast, esp. one who is obsessed with anime, video games, or the computer and rarely leaves home.

Microsoft's official response to the PSN tragedy.

Produced by the same advertising agency that brought you 2008's successful "Get a REAL DVD" Anti-Piracy PSA.

I'm like really bummed about it. Grieving through video is the only way I know how.

Comic-Con preview night was a success, I got on the Rock Band stage and performed Lady Gaga's Bad Romance in front of hundreds of confused nerds. You'll either appreciate this or be appalled. Either way, I'm sorry.
