I'm a left-handed hero.
The problem isn't left-handers playing games. It's left-handers playing the DS. It's a pain in the ass.
I hardly think its Discrimination, I highly doubt developers are making everyone right handed on purpose, it just tends to be that a right handed person will draw a character holding something with their right hand.
As for not being included in games, most PC FPS' give you (or at least used to) the option of having a left or right handed character.
This is not meant as any offense to left-handers, or any other "minority" group, but it's tedious when everyone these days is crying out discimination over not being included in something all of the time.
I mean I always play Splinter Cell left-handed because I can. I always figured it was up to the artist if the character was lefty or righty. And playing the DS left-handed... now THAT is discrimination ;), I cannot stand that, there is a flip feature usually, but using the buttons isn't the same as the d-pad.
Using the buttons instead of the d-pad takes a little getting used to, but it's not that big a deal personally.
is a thing of proportion sadly. there are more right handed than left handend gamers
Pretty much the only thing I do with my left hand is write. Almost everything else I do with my right hand.
i think wii sports lets you pick if your a lefty or a righty, and thats like the most popular game right now.
Too bad Link was changed to a righty for Twilight Princess.
@Orcist
Wii only on that one
Left handed FTW.
I'm left handed too, but crying for left handed heroes is definitely at the bottom of the priority list of things to complain about... I do however agree with the DS situation. I'd also like to complain about no left handed guitar's for guitar hero. Yeah yeah, they have lefty flip, but that's a have you ever tried to get a high score on scorehero.com without being able to get the squeezes?! (I'm talking about the whammy bar and its inconvenient location ABOVE the strumming bar)
Wow, proofread FTW! You get what I meant though, right?
I always thought the lefty-flip was an incredibly crap way of getting round Guitar Hero being playable for left-handed gamers. To be honest, I'm right handed and can barely get off of Medium difficulty though
I'm left handed as well, but don't have a problem with the Wii, and haven't really used the DS at all.
Wouldn't Samus be left handed.. cause, you know.. her right arm is a blaster? At least when she's wearing the suit (which is all the time), she'd have to do everything that requires fingers with her left hand.
As for Guitar Hero, you'd think it's made for left handed people, because the left hand is the one up there, on the fret buttons! I tried lefty flip, and it just confused me, because I was already used to the other way. That and the whammy bar being above the strum bar, like Lukich said.
I never really got the point in Left-handed guitars. It just seems more natural to use your dominant hand on the fret.
