Super Mario Galaxy, better than SM64?
Founder | 10:19 PM on 11.13.2007 3 comments

Super Mario Galaxy is amazing, there's no doubt in that, but is it really better than Super Mario 64? There's no doubt SMG was designed around Super Mario 64 (Obviously it's a Mario Game, but the way the levels are laid out such as go to a level, choose a star and also all the various homages). The real question is not how awesome they both are, but which one is awesome-er? I mean usually newer is better, but Super Mario 64 was the first 3D game I ever played, it raised the gaming bar forever. I don't feel SMG is doing that, but I do feel like it's providing me with a fun experience and a warm fuzzy memory of playing Super Mario 64 for the first time. I would love to call them equal, but I think nothing can beat the original.

Also, what's up with Princess Peaches emo-haircut-donning-nightgown-wearing clone?

I can't stop playing Bioshock. It has given me a headache, I did what any good internet Samaritan would do and went online and blogged about it.

Left-handers in videogames
Founder | 12:16 PM on 08.17.2007 18 comments

Why is it that almost no game characters are ever left-handed? Link was, but that's the only one I can think of off the top of my head. Us left-handers are being discriminated against! Granted, most people are right-handed and playing an FPS with a left-hander may throw them off (somehow), but it would just seem more natural. It's like how almost all game characters are white males, or really hot girls. There's nothing that strays from the stereotypical norm. I don't really know of any other left-handed heroes, if you do comment it up!

The game time forgot

Is anyone aside from me remotely excited about Mass Effect anymore? I haven't heard anything about it in months. I remember when OXM made a bet that it was going to be Game of the Year. Bioshock is obviously going to take that position now (screw Halo 3). Seriously though, I thought this game was coming out in June, now it's release date is November or something. I really hope Mass Effect does not end up like Too Human *shudders*.

New Exanimus Feature Announced! Squeeee!
Founder | 12:12 AM on 08.06.2007 6 comments

Exanimus, an MMO about zombies (which has been sorely needed) has announced a new and exciting feature since there really aren't many... other... features. I figured this would be a great way to introduce people to the game.

Here's some of the main features of the game:

- Based on the Horror Genre breaking away from traditional Sci-Fi / Fantasy MMO's.

- Ability for players to fight for survival as a human or join the ranks of the dead.

- Large urban and rural areas for players to discover.

- New custom crafting and economy system.

- Current plans include both a traditional & Perma-Death Servers.

Scintillating? Meh, we'll see, it's only in the early stages though. Highly possible it will get canned before release... speaking of which, what ever happened to Citizen Zero?
